This is one of our fave restaurants ever! Chef is superb! We have visited many times for the set menu and also tried the wine pairing. We are always super impressed by the flavours and excitement of each course. The black pudding bread is the best in the world haha! Decor isn’t quite fitting the ‘fine dining’ description but it’s certainly unique. Perhaps a warmer, more intimate atmosphere would add to the ambiance and general impression. Service can be a little hit or miss, sometimes takes a little while to be noticed or receive drinks including top ups and last time we visited we couldn’t understand the waiter very well as he had a very strong accent. We also found the restaurant very cold and had to keep our jackets on which was a shame as we had dressed up for the occasion. We would LOVE if there was some sort of shuttle service to the city centre which would allow all parties to enjoy the gin/wine pairing. 5 stars because the food is to die for and with little tweaks this could be the best dining experience in Inverness.

This was to be our one night of “luxurious accommodation” after touring for 10 days in b&b’s. Turns out that the b&b’s were the luxury (Water’s Edge Cottage on Loch Lomond, Heatherfield House on Skye and Springfield Lodge in Stirling, all superb 5*). Paid £229.50 for one night back in March for a Superior double room, which now looks nothing like the current photo on the web site. Old fashioned especially the bathroom, room overlooked the loch but through a small window you needed to be standing up to see through. Decided not to eat here so it was fish and chips in the car in Fort Augustus. Much more expensive than the rest so our verdict was “very “disappointing” and a poor choice. Wine by the bottle not the glass!

I called in here for a coffee on the way home from the airport and have been bounced by a demand for a £100 fine from Britannia Parking for missing the parking ticket machine, in the dark on a rainy evening. I won't be calling again.

We popped in when visiting the locks at Fort Augustus and they were about to close within 20mins but could not have been more welcoming and friendly. None of us are vegans but all their cakes (and there are a lot of delish options) are homemade and vegan friendly. Tea is also reasonably priced for a pot for two. Enjoyed a chat with the owner who gave us some great advice about golf courses near Inverness which we took and thoroughly enjoyed.

Give this place a miss. Bar/restaurant was empty when we called in and now we know why! Felt like a throw back to 1930s. No atmosphere. Cutlery was filthy. My seafood platter was nice but husband's venison was overcooked. Barman (owner?) was pleasant enough but we were constantly watched over by his lady partner, who made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable.

Lovely gelato / ice cream. We enjoyed every bite and absolutely would return. Great service too, had a nice sit outside on the table and chairs in the sun.

We stayed three nights at the Tomich Hotel to be close to the hiking in Glenn Affric and it was the perfect location to base camp out of for our stay. The weather was quite variable in August so we liked being close to home when the weather would inevitably turn. Glenn Affric is very quiet, we saw very few people in the best way possible and likewise enjoyed the calm of The Tomich Hotel. We were thankful for the pack lunches the hotel chef prepared for us and for hot breakfast in the morning AND dinner in the evening. There is not a lot of other dining nearby so it was nice that everything could be taken care of food wise right at the Hotel. (The cafe next door has wonderful sandwiches and soups in the morning / early afternoon.) If you like peace and quiet and being on the doorstep of incredible scenery and hiking, this is the perfect place for you.

If I could could give 0 starts I really would, 0 people’s ethic, rude and unprofessional, only had one person who was a chef there that carried the whole place and now he’s gone the place is a disaster, wouldn’t recommend to anyone at all, even my enemies! Treat their staff with upmost disrespect and their customers too. Dirty and unprofessional!

the rooms are clean, but the price list for the restaurant is cheaper in the room, if you want to sit directly in the restaurant, the food is more expensive. The cheaper price list only applies to takeaway. If you are a hotel guest, you are disappointed.

Served cold beef that was clearly a microwave meal, sticky toffee pudding was ok but again it was a microwave meal, cheap ice cream and the cheesecake was very warm, when I complained I was given various bogus excuses and didn't receive an apology in any way, local beer is the most expensive and the whole thing was a joke, the priory has fallen in quality and they rely on selling rubbish to people that dont know any better or that are foreign and won't be back
