Amazing little restaurant tucked away in Edinburgh. Food was excellent and very authentic and the maitre’d was spot on with the level of service and support. A great meal and we will be back again !

UNHYGIENIC EXPERIENCE ALERT ‼️ We came to this restaurant because of its great rating, expecting a nice dinner, but it turned out to be an absolute disaster. We ordered Prawn Vindaloo for £14.99 and rice for £3.50, and the portions were ridiculously small—barely enough for one person. On top of it, there were no spoons on the table, and I had to walk up to the bar just to ask for one. Then, the final straw: as we were about to order another plate of rice, I found a HAIR strand in the vindaloo curry. It was absolutely disgusting and completely ruined my appetite. I was so disgusted that I couldn’t even process the event and didn’t click a picture of my plate. The lack of basic customer courtesy, careless serving, and unhygienic food made this a horrible experience. A complete waste of time!!! Grateful that I didn’t have to pay for the vile food.

Had a lovely meal with friends here for Xmas. Would definitely be back. Thankyou.

A very nice Thai lunch from the fixed menu. Draught Singha beer is good, I could half a half and husband could have a pint. Not a large restaurant, so best to book. We'll be back.

Wow this is the most beautiful Chinese. The food is beautiful, well presented, fresh & flavoursome. The service was professional and very knowledgeable, as one if our party was Vegan. They adapted dishes that weren’t on the menu to Vegan for us. Portion sizes meant we came back with a takeaway too! The house wine was a good quality and the selection of other drinks was excellent. We will be back❤️

I recently visited Gurkhas bar and restaurant with my friends and it was a delightful dining experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely exquisite. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared, showcasing fresh ingredients and impressive flavors. The quality of the ingredients really shone through, and you could tell the kitchen takes pride in using fresh, local produce. The presentation of the dishes was equally impressive, adding to the overall appeal. As for the service, it was top-notch. The staff were friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu. The wait time was reasonable, and our orders were delivered promptly. The ambiance of the restaurant also contributed to a great experience—clean, cozy, and welcoming, making it a perfect spot for a casual dinner or a special occasion. Overall, I would highly recommend Gurkhas bar and restaurant for anyone looking for delicious food, high-quality ingredients, and exceptional service.

The food is good, but the owner is a politically left-wing member of the Democratic Party of Korea, so I stopped going because I thought eating here would support that side.

Been a few times now and safe to say this is one of the best Thai Restaurants I’ve been to in the UK.

The food is amazing but the restaurant is so tiny. The first time I visited was during the summer and there was no ventilation in the restaurant. The kitchen and dinning place are connected. So for the whole time we were smelling the strong spices in the air. The service is nice but too busy for only three people working in the restaurant, waited half an hour for my food. Recommend to takeaway or get delivery.

First time at Kim’s bulgogi and my friends and I were instantly greeted by the friendly front staff. After ordering, the food all came quickly, but the food was still all very high quality!! The soy dakgangjang was crispy and the meat was succulent, topped with mouthwatering sweet soy sauce, and the bibimbap came in a filling portion with plenty of sauce to go with it. Overall, very good experience, would definitely come again!

Just had lamb Rogan josh,fried rice & peshwari nan which was superb , would highly recommend this restaurant.

I've been twice and enjoyed both visits, great food and service, I gave 4 stars because first time I didn't seen to have many pieces of meat in my curry, I wasn't in a rush to go back but I was given vouchers for Christmas, on the second visit I had much more meat in my curry and much more likely to revisit in the future, Also a nice touch if the owner could've sprinkled some grit in the carpark and path,
