Four of us contacted the bulls head Glossop late this evening to book two rooms, we were told the rooms are available and we travelled by taxi to the pub (which was quite costly). Upon arrival we paid for the two rooms which was £220 in total, after purchasing one drink each at the bar we were shown our rooms by the friendly lady, the rooms were beautiful and we were very tired from a long day, I unpacked my bags and started to get a shower, within 20 minutes of being in the rooms the male manager came knocking on our rooms informing us that we had to leave because the rooms had been double booked!! I was naked in the shower and had travelled far! We are disgusted with the service! I am heavily pregnant and was wet hair from the shower. The manager was so rude and I would never ever recommend this pub to stay!!

one of the worst b&b’s I’ve stayed in. we were in the bed & breakfast for a weekend. the breakfast was nice enough, but the rooms were absolutely filthy. towels and sheets were stained and covered in hair, crockery was dirty & the bathroom floor was covered in hair. there’s no WiFi, even though they listed it on their booking. and the staff were a little too nonchalant and very unwilling to help. on top of this, the pub neglects to mention they put on live music on a Saturday night until 12am which you can hear directly through the walls. and there’s a rooster that lives next door that woke us up at 5am on both mornings.

Visited here for food after a lovely walk around Mam Tor. Staff are extremely rude and unwelcoming.. certainly not the yorkshire way! You're just shouted or commanded at.. no warmth or care. The food is appears to be heated/fried from frozen but it is presented well and tastes good. Puddings are fabulous. Would recommend training your staff on the ethos of customer service and "service with a smile".. it goes a long way!

unfortunately the worst food I've eaten in the last 12 months, everything fried in old burnt oil. The fish was so hard, that is, the breading was burnt with old oil from the fork, I couldn't stick it in, of course I complained. After 40 minutes they brought new fish and chips, unfortunately fried in the same old oil. The second course was no better because it was fried in the same oil. The cabernet cheese was also burnt and tasteless, for the whole thing I paid 60 f for the worst food in my life ... I don't recommend this pub to an enemy, give it a wide berth..

This is the third management team I have known to be at The wheatsheaf , I do have to say that it is an improvement on the last manager , it isn’t a ‘ country pub’ anymore , more like a city wine bar , I mean , it is nice , the decor is a bit too dark and music too loud but the landlord seems a nice enough guy?!. They don’t serve food anymore which is a shame ?! Mind you , I don’t think I’d like to be sat eating my dinner with music thudding away
