The best restaurants serving British food in Babergh East of England

No longer a pub really went in bit nowhere to sit and drink a few beers it's more resteruant than pub, still lovely and in a amazing location. But not really a pub.

Great farm shop with an excellent butcher on-site. If you have time be sure to use the café as it is really nice.

A lovely place, with wonderful staff and excellent food. Cannot fault anything about our visit. Thank you all so much. Will certainly be visiting very soon.

Only have take away fish and chips from this restaurant. I often order from home and collect. The rock eel is excellent and is cooked to order.

Small, warm and friendly pub with a good selection of beers and drinks. Perfect as a walk destination.

Wow! Arriving on a dull, drizzly and cold December day, even the weather could not cloud my Marquis experience. Entering via Reception you can see just how the Marquis has been transformed into a beautiful updated and upmarket building. The old and the new flow between and the visitor cannot fail to be impressed. We were here for Breakfast in the restaurant. Staff were attentive and friendly. Our order was taken and soon before us was the Marquis big breakfast and the vegetarian version. Plates are large, the food is very good quality. The best vegetarian sausages I have ever tried . My only drawback was I could not finish my plate it was huge but very reasonably priced. Following on from breakfast we had a tour of the building and I was able to see the various function rooms, Orangery and Wellness Suite. By the time we had to leave I honestly could have stayed. I did not want to leave. We will be back. Thank you Marquis for a lovely experience.

A group of us stayed at the hotel for a get together and in spite of ordering the food the week earlier the hotel was unable to deliver all that was required to the point of delaying the starter for one of our party which did not go down well. The rooms were below par and certainly required a great deal of attention from blocked drains to no water flow and broken heating. I would be very careful when booking this establishment as it would appear that management are not able to fix these problems

A nice experience at the Crown. Lovely character to the place and the food was generally good. Three is us had the roast beef and one the roast pork. Service was generally good, although would have been good to have got the roast with the terrine, rather than halfway through. Would definitely go back though.

Food for an evening meal absolutely superb., very surprised (expected traditional pub food) would def. eat an evening meal there again.

Arrived at pub after our hotel Restaurant let us down and really glad our hotel did , as we had the best sunday roast possible Everything cooked to perfection compliments to everyone The staff were very busy but had time for you and nothing was too much trouble Highly recommend this place to all

Very average food but disappointed. Was for my son’s 30th birthday. No warm greeting, no happy birthday and staff aloof.

Really good service and food, impressed with accomodating attitude and carvery organisation. Uncrowded seating is a bonus
