The best restaurants serving British food in Dacorum East of England

Popped in after a walk, spacious and very clean Had delicious Mediterranean wrap, some chips and salad. Good menu, plenty to choose from. Table had been reserved for us. Food for 15 came out all together, hot and delicious and had been pre-ordered in advance. Very well organised. Staff friendly and hospitable. I'm not a dog fan and would prefer a dog free area, that said I can see that those with dogs would really enjoy it here. Ambiance was functional and sparse but clean and spacious. Will definitely go back again and would try the full English which looked delicious.

Top notch lunchtime meal… and if you are over 60 you get 20% discount Monday - Thursday 12-2pm. First visit but certainly won’t be the last. Well worth a try if you are in the vicinity. Good local beers as well, Cheers, Andy.

Great little tea room, we cycled along the Nickey Line with the kids- way cycling and traffic free. Then popped into this tea room for tea, coffee and some cake- perfect.

Filled my mailbox up with unwanted leaflets I'm not interested. Stop sending them to me. Writing anything to get past the 100 char limit

Excellent scrambled eggs on toast with a good decaf cappuccino. Will return soon.

Lovely service from Julie as usual

Very good atmosphere here, and the service was really good. We were a big group and they took good care of us. The pizza looked amazing, but the roast really wasn’t up to much.

Went for their Xmas afternoon tea. Really great value for money, lovely food, good atmosphere and staff friendly and attentive.

Roast dinner 10/10, lovely. Apple crumble is big enough to share! Team and customers friendly. Colouring for kids too.

Sixteen of our family shared a delightful Xmas lunch after a country walk

Looked lovely from the outside and the right hand side of the bar was lovely. We were soon told to move to the next side as it was being closed. Staff were not helpful even when we tried to pay. When we tried to get the fire going we told to not touch the fire we’re not liable. I suggest you put some signs up if customers are not allowed to touch the fire. Having been advised that we should ask a member of staff to get the fire going, we would have if paying for a drink wasn’t so difficult in the first place. Won’t be going back.

Noisy, crowded bar. Public tend to stand at the small bar even though there's seating.

Proper old fashioned boozer. We didn't eat, stopped by for a drink. Friendly atmosphere, welcoming staff.

We often visit with friends for speed quizzing but this was the first time we have brought family with us for Sunday lunch. Lee the landlord was so brilliant with my granddaughter. He put her at ease and engaged in conversation with her. Lunch was great as usual and we find the friendliness of Lee and his staff absolutely wonderful.

I like this place as it is just off J 9 of the M1 and handy place to get a good meal with salad buffet rather than the usual Motorway service station junk food.
