One of the best pints of Guinness outside of Ireland. They do a really good hot sandwich as well, beef, ham etc. old school pub inside which can get really busy but for good reasons with a good outside bit to stand and people watch. Do not walk past this pub without stopping for a pint.

Went as a special treat with my partner. The food is pretty mediocre. We had the classic afternoon tea. The actual tea was excellent (Royal blend) but the food was very basic. The patisseries were particularly bland and just look good in photos. The price is ridiculous for the quality. Our initial waiter was very professional and polite. At the end of the meal we found it difficult to get the bill so asked a different waiter. The interaction with him was very inappropriate for a place like this. I was asked where I was from and I stated Venezuela. The waiter responded "oh you are from a country like Russia, communist". Considering the political state of Venezuela at present I found this comment very insensitive. I paid alot of money for the experience, to receive an inappropriate comment by someone not directly impacted by the political situation. I would be mindful of staff bringing up politics, particularly current events.

Needed to organise Sunday roast in a pub for my Aussie visitors and the English family. I liked the look of the menu at The George as it had choice of meats (something which other pubs I looked at didn't have). We were seated upstairs fairly close to the kitchen but that wasn't a problem. The food was lovely - most of us had starters, all of which were very tasty. Then we all had roasts, for each of us the meat was cooked properly (it was explained that the roast beef would be served rare- so no surprises). The meals were a good size with all the trimmings and good Yorkshire puddings. We had a lovely wine and finished with a digestive which the barman helped us choose. The whole team were polite and attentive and they worked the floor as a team, so you weren't left waiting for your "server". We had the table from 12.45 until 4 when they explained they would need the table back by 4.30 - we didn't reel rushed and I'm sure if we hadn't have had to leave around that time anyway they would have helped us find a space in the bar. We will be back.

We booked this as we received a virgin experience, so had the 5 course set menu, the staff were great but should be as £20 service charge automatically added to bill!! The food was OK, starters fine, i asked for the steak medium rare but came out medium, desert did not blow my socks off either. All just OK, `Be warned everything is extra, eg water with the meal, chips with the steak!! We wanted it to be special so did have what we wanted. Expect a meal for 2 with 2 sides and a couple of drinks each £200

Disappointing visit here. Two coffees and two eggs Benedict £33 ! Like wow 😯 the service was a bit surly from a disinterested lady… to start. Then I had to return my latte as it was just lukewarm, not even hot upon arrival. The Guy was friendly enough and heated my new cup with hot water first and it was just passable… coffee from a machine. Then the food… I was looking forward to runny eggs as expected with eggs Benedict… I didn’t even bother to complain.. but at restaurant prices food should be hot and acceptable … it was beyond basic and disappointing to be honest. For those that drink a pint and a pit stop might suffice. I however would’ve recommend or return here again.

Went for a pre-Xmas lunch here, I chose it because they had a full menu rather than a more limited “Christmas Lunch” menu. The staff were wonderfully attentive and friendly, especially Tyrell, and made us feel really welcome. The food was above average - the Coronation Chicken Scotch Egg was a big hit - although I would say the prices were rather steep. I guess this is a consequence of the location, no more than 100 metres from Westminster Abbey. Overall, very nice experience with lively staff, but not exactly a bargain.
