The best restaurants serving British food in Newham London

Occasionally go here for some breakfast. Nice seating space with plenty of walking space between table, service and food good but slightly slow. Was recommended from an OAP neighbour who used to use it every day and they took good care of him when he went in.

I recently visited Windsor House in Beckenham, and the ambiance was lovely when I walked in. I felt welcomed upon arrival, thanks to a lovely staff member named Pranaya, who was warm and professional. She made a great first impression and later served us our desserts with the same kindness and attentiveness. I ordered from the Sunday roast menu and also had desserts—both were absolutely splendid. The food was 10/10, and it’s clear the kitchen takes great care in preparing their dishes. Unfortunately, my experience was overshadowed by the poor service from another staff member named Shahal. Before serving me, I noticed him using his phone, which came across as unprofessional. When I asked him relevant questions about the menu, he seemed uninterested and dismissive. His body language made it clear that he wasn’t willing to engage, and it felt like he was being forced to assist me. This really threw me off, especially since it was my first time at the restaurant. It’s disappointing because the food itself was incredible, and Pranaya’s excellent service stood out. However, Shahal’s poor attitude left a bad taste in my mouth. While I’m undecided about whether I’ll return, I strongly urge the management to be more mindful of who they hire to represent their restaurant. Great service is just as important as good food, and this experience fell short in that regard.

Durante una visita reciente pedimos 2 filetes de filete "Herefordshire". A £ 42 por filete la experiencia de comer fue decepcionante, por decir lo menos... A ese tipo de precios un negocio simplemente tiene que hacerlo bien ¿eh? Así que mi sugerencia es... encontrar un restaurante local y no pagar dinero tonto a bordo.

The staff are fantastic. Really do make the effort to make me want to go back. Food is great and rarely disappoints. The atmosphere is really nice and enjoy everything about this pub. I have been going to the Golden Fleece for years and the staff now are among my favourite ones. I have know some great bar staff over the years and some not so great. There is nothing at all I would change about this pub. Love it :)

The setting is beautiful but worth noting that the more expensive set menu diners go up stairs and a la carte diners stay downstairs. However it is much better value and the food was delicious. I was a bit wary as it has to be pre ordered but it was cooked to perfection. The other bonus is you keep the table for the interval so I’ll do this every time now.

The pies were full of flavour and probably the tastiest pies we've had in East London. Great atmosphere, extremely friendly staff and such a cosy place to have dinner and spend the evening in. Definitely worth visiting again ad again.

buscando comer antes del concierto me fui un poco tarde en todas partes tenía colas, excepto pastel cuadrado (pronto descubrí por qué) así que elegí comer allí Escogí un filete de empanada / riñón chips cerveza de guisantes blandos (14) pastel estaba bien las patatas fritas estaban tibias y horrible el pastel es pequeño, sería bueno ofrecer un pastel más grande para mayores apetitos, no hay atmósfera, aunque la comida es razonable. Salí sintiéndome de mala relación calidad-precio. Triste es decir que nunca elegiría el pastel cuadrado. de nuevo

Came here because of good ratings here. Well… when waiters don’t know neither their job nor the food they serve, it gets kinda difficult. Food was better than the professionalism and service. Dissappointed Could have been good with proper management and staff with the slightest experience

A massive plateful with olives,croutons.cucumber,tomatoes and good lettuce and leaves more than I could eat and cheap

Absolutely dissapointed with this establishment. I ordered food from here last week and to be honest, the food was great. I ordered again today using Uber Eats and I mentioned in the notes that in my last order one item was missing. Just because I mentioned that they cancelled my order with Uber Eats saying I called and cancelled when I did not. When I called to ask why my order had been cancelled, I was told by the person answering the phone that the 'boss' had done this and he is not there now to speak with. Extremely Extremely bad manners and service, will never ever order from there again or recommend anyone to est there either. Such a shame.

A couple of days ago I been have the best service. This shop is the one inside after pass the control. It’s not the first time this is happened, but this last time I have to ask the name because I feel this person was super friendly that make my day just amazing. So thanks to Anna for make me a delicious cafe!

Las principales eran buenas con la excepción del atún “raro” que era cualquier cosa menos. Una descripción más adecuada se cocinaría y luego un poco más. Los postres fueron una catástrofe. Sería mejor que vinieras a Tesco al lado... porque ahí es donde el chef compra pudín. El donut £ 6. 50 (6 por £ 1 de Tesco) rociado en toffee y salsa de chocolate (también de Tesco). El melocotón matcha lassi es medio merengue (Tesco) , sorbete de melocotón (probablemente Tesco) y yogur de coco acuoso (también Tesco) .
