6 minutes ago New Rang to see the times on Saturday, said we were coming. Advised it was open till 5, so went at 3:00, paid £4 to park and then a blonde woman had to be asked to open the door, to which she rolled her eyes at us. It was windy and raining and we had a 1 year old and a 3 year old. Told that they just had a party and now they are closing as it’s quiet! I advise you don’t bank on them being open or caring if your children are crying in the wind and rain. Book to go somewhere else.

We stopped by chance at The Percy Arms for a drink and ended up eating an amazing meal-Wednesday afternoon and very quiet but the food was delicious and the service excellent. The soup was very tasty and the steak cooked to perfection - we will return!

This was our fourth visit to Beadnell Towers for Sunday lunch and unfortunately our last. On this occasion I found it expensive and not good value for what was on offer. I complained about the roast potatoes which were advertised as being cooked in duck fat. They were as tough as old boots, had been re-heated and even then they were cold- Aunt Bessies have nothing to worry about. When I complained I was told by the Maitre'D had he told the chef. When leaving I noticed that a number of other customers had also left their potatoes. For the prices charged the least I expected was freshly cooked vegetables.

Food very good, reception and dining room staff friendly and helpful. Bar staff not very good, one female brusque to the point of rudeness. Rooms small and not very comfortable, no where to relax in the rooms apart from on the uncomfortable bed. Not an issue if there were comfortable chairs and communal areas to relax for hotel guests or even comfortable chairs in the bar areas which there wasn’t. Would not recommend as a hotel or a bar to visit but food was good

Visited here as we just wanted a cup of tea and a piece of cake. Other establishments were shut or only served fish and chips! I try and be fair when leaving reviews and unfortunately this did not “hit the mark”. The waitress didn’t seem interested in her job with no welcome as we walked through the door. No table service and menus were poorly presented on the bare wooden tables. Tea was ok but both the cakes we had were pretty average. The cafe gave the impression that it was unloved and needed a lot of TLC. We won’t be back.
