An amazing place with great food and a good selection of wine and drinks. I had salmon pâté for starter, the Crab Brioche (recommended by Fred and Nadiya) and a Panna cotta and sorbet for dessert. Espresso Martini to finish! All highly recommended. We had to book weeks in advance to get a table on a Friday evening but it’s worth it.

Not many places left that serve proper beer (at the correct temperature as well). This is about the only one for miles!

We were staying in the area looking for a dog friendly place to eat that also had vegan options. Rang ahead and was able to book to eat in bar area. When we arrived we we were given a very warm welcome. The waiter could not have been more helpful including sorting out a vegan meal for me which was delicious. The gentleman who I assume was the owner made us feel like valued customers and was passionate about the business. We had a lovely evening the food was great value for money and it was very dog friendly. Recommended

9 of us went for Christmas lunch we arrived at 12-30 we finally got our starters at 2-40 then 3-15 before we got a sorbet the mail meal didn't come until 4-20 by that time we had all filled up on drinks. We left at 4 -50 still waiting for our desert and hot chocolate with cake that we didnt get , Fair to say for £85 each we won't be going again. Far to slow and to many customers not enough staff

Great pub with fantastic staff the food is always good. The only issue I have is that the price of drinks is getting too expensive and this will make a big difference to how many times we will visit.

£6.70 for a sausage sandwich and a cup of tea. Budget quality sausages budget quality tea budget quality stale bread. Over priced very poor value. It's such a shame because the location is perfect and it could be a popular place that people would return to.

Had a festive carvery with a small group this week. Carvery was well stocked and looked freshly cooked. Pleasant serving staff. Food was delicious(that swede- if I’d brought a tub, I’d have filled it and taken it home!). Tasty meats and Plenty of veg choice. Then dessert. Oh dear. Lovely options. I shouldn’t have really, but the cherry cheesecake won over the strawberry gateau. I was devastated I was too full to finish it, trying to squeeze in just one more small spoonful. Really enjoyed it. £23 midweek deal for 2 courses for two people as part of a pre-Christmas menu, absolute bargain

We stopped here with the dogs for lunch during a long walk. The new landlord of only a few weeks has already created a lovely welcoming atmosphere. Full marks for good value lunch (home made soup was delicious) , friendly staff and spotless “Ladies”!
