What a little gem of a cafe! Next to a decent sized car park, we popped into Yam Frae Yam on a disgustingly wet Saturday afternoon. We had missed the breakfast menu (served until 12) but one of us had a bacon and brie panini and lemon meringue blondie. Both were delicious and great quality. We both also had coffees which were expertly made. The staff were particularly friendly and helpful, even giving us recommendations on walking trails locally and showing us specific routes on Google maps. Loved the unusual decor and the cafe felt spacious - unlike many others where you feel like you're sat on top of other customers! A lovely place to spend a few hours on a rainy afternoon. We hope to return again and sample the breakfast menu! And a shout out to the young lad working there who served our drinks and food and was proactive in clearing our table.

A really great local pub and restaurant. We stopped here three times during our walking in The Lakes, once for food and twice for drinks after walking the fells. We always received a warm welcome and enjoyed the wide selection of brews. Food was great, high quality pub food that catered well for vegetarian and vegan options with everything accurately labelled. Lovely open fire place and great atmosphere with lots of people enjoying the food and ambience. Recommended.

Two couples stayed in apartment 1a and 1b, two large ensuite bedrooms, beautifully decorated and the best beds ever either side of a shared lounge. An excellent set up. Breakfast was excellent for both the vegan and non vegan guests. Thank you Barbara and all the team.

Excellent bakery, the pies are the best there is, get there early to avoid disappointment. Great selection , very friendly staff - highly recommended.

We stayed at the Inn and ate in the restaurant and were delighted with the food - we were advised that the chef is new but they seem to have become well established by our visit. In particular the vegan options were lovely - a cut above what is often on offer for vegans in pubs. Please see my pic of the nut roast which our daughter said was delish š

I went to the Kellbank who displayed a 5 star food rating despite months before they had a rating of 1 and didn't change the sticker. I contracted ecoli and was hospitalised my last night It is now October and according to a good source the Kellbank Hotel in the Lake District from where I contracted ecoli, they are still displaying their 5 star rating sicker. Lawfully their most recent one done all of the way back in spring still not displayed. What is no one picking up on this? Date of experience: 24 July 1024

We had been warned it got very busy so had booked a table. When we arrived it was already packed so had high expectations! Sadly we were very disappointed. The service was poor and the food was not good. My wife chose fish and chips ābecause you canāt mess that upā but struggled to eat it as it was swimming in grease. The mash with my Cumberland sausage tasted like Smash made on a camp stove by my mother on camping holidays in my youth! Not a good recommendation š. Thereās very little choice of establishments locally so they have a captive audience so I guess little motivation to drive improvement
