A warm welcome for me and my 2 dogs at this traditional old inn. I enjoyed the lamb cutlets from the range of specials and some decent wine. Reasonably priced too. Thank you

Fellbites is situated right in the centre of Glenridding so is easy to get to. The menu is good and on our visit they had a number of specials too. My wife ordered Spicy lentil soup and I ordered beef burger with jalapeños and chips, both meals came out quickly, were piping hot and tasted delicious. We would recommend this place.

The staff was so helpful and couldn’t do enough and the food was lovely, home made, Ed had lasagne and steak pie, very good portions and good value for money

We've just visited Cafe sixty-six on our journey to York. We had delicious cakes and great coffee. It was a very friendly place and nice and warm. I had the most delicious gluten free jaffa cake. One of the best gf cakes I've ever tasted and homemade. Would highly recommend!

Sandwiches, toasted or not, well filled and freshly prepared. Other choices also looked delicious. Chips stay crispy! Delicious coffee, even the decaff. Lovely people running it, very friendly and helpful. Dogs welcome. Only open evening is Friday, also do Sunday lunch roast.

Amazing food. The chicken ham and leek pie is the best I've ever tasted. Comes with roasted vegetables and mash. Top marks for all the staff

The food and atmosphere is great but as a dog owner who visits the area 4 times a year for a at least a week at a time I find it hard to believe there isn’t an area to eat indoors with your dog, especially where it is situated, we have stayed in a local cottage numerous times and have to dine out at the Eden Hall Country Hotel, which incidentally is very nice but a couple of fields walk away which is fine in daylight but not so much in the dark, I get that not all people are dog lovers but I feel should the Shepherds give it a try especially in this day n age where hospitality is supposedly struggling they may have there eyes opened

Booked with colleagues for festive drinks and tapas. Have passed by on a few occasions, from the outside the bar looks stylish and upmarket. However, the booth was far too cramped for 5 people and the seating was uncomfortable. There was just one member of staff serving an almost full venue so, through no fault of his own, the service was a little slow. There is a good variety of drinks on the menu and there are no complaints about the quality of these. The evening menu is tapas style small plates, so ideal for a relaxed evening with friends. We opted for 2-3 dishes each, which was enough when you don’t wish to have a full main meal. Portion sizes of the dishes were good but the taste was very underwhelming. The sauces were better than the plates of food, and in particular the jerk chicken was bland, dry and very overcooked. The biggest complaint of the evening was a lack of awareness around allergies or dietary needs - at no point when booking or providing the menu was this discussed and there is nothing to advise on the website or social media pages. There are no labels on the menu to advise on allergens and when we asked the staff which dishes were suitable for a celiac, the reply was “oh christ, probably none of them”… staff had no idea which dishes were suitable, and didn’t seem to really care, either.

We are getting to be regulars here now - what can I say - fantastic homemade food ! Love the Merlot - makes it taste better in a good wine glass 👌 Service is always exceptional in this small and friendly pub 💃🏻🥳 Have to say one of my favourites in Cumbria 😍

Cosy , small and welcoming ! Been here today with family for food and drinks , we’re made to fee immediately welcome and then sat down so some hearty food. The fire was on and the conversation was great !

Booked for a evening meal as was staying near by, the food was absolutely amazing, piping hot, fresh, just delicious, will definitely be going back ! Best Steak pie ever !!

We spent the night on the way from Suffolk to Cairnryan. Looked good on Booking.com. Found staff very friendly and helpful and dinner and breakfast were good but room was small and dark and M6 provided constant background noise. Also fairlybm chilly as heating wasn’t on and hot towel rail in bathroom was cold.

Organised Christmas lunch for 25 older people and had the best time. Nothing was a bother to David and the staff, food was fantastic

The black Swan..you couldn't ask for more , clean, quiet and tasty , I really want to thank Jack and Steve for a really pleasant getaway for me and my wife , felt relaxed after 2 minutes in this pub , beers good, but the food served at dinner was fantastic, way better than any pub grub, fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked , a joy to eat it and there is plenty of it , jacky worked tirelessly to keep every one happy and Steve in the kitchen does wonders ,thanks to the other staff too, will be coming back ..oh and sorry I forgot to hand in the keys .. post them back tomorrow
