The best restaurants serving British food in Oldham North West

Excellent food, first class service, spotlessly clean cafe, staff go out of their way to make you feel at home, would highly recommend a visit, wish I’d found this place sooner.

Had a great time at the Annex for a friends 50th. Nina on the bar was fabulous. Very friendly and made great gin and tonics, taking care to make sure the garnish was correct. Thank you!

Ordered a sausage butty and a latte as usual... asked for extra butter as I don't have sauce and the woman in the back that wasn't serving me jumped in and said extra what? So I repeated extra butter please and she said they are only supposed to put a certain amount on. Luckily the woman who was actually serving me ignored this pathetic statement and did give me extra butter.

Lovely atmosphere. Pippa, Daisy and the rest of the staff make you feel very welcome. We were told to try the lasagna, it was THE BEST! Absolutely delicious ❤️

Early bird menu. Forgot to take our order. 3 bean stew worth 50p but cost me £9. Sprouts hard and meat out of a packet on the roast of the day. Had to ask for salt and pepper, but ended up going for it myself. Absolute rubbish, do not go.

You will have a lovely time when you visit the North Star. The North Star has a lovely atmosphere, with softly played current music, fine array of drinks, and a menu to suit everyone's taste and pocket. The staff are friendly, helpful and courteous. As a family of four we dined and had four different meals of which all were highly satisfactory which raised praise for the chef and kitchen staff. We will definitely be going again in the knowledge that we will have a really lovely evening with everything we like catered for. Thank you to the North Star Management and Team. Xxx

Kind and professional staff, and great food.

I had hunter's chicken but found it way too dry and my husband had sirloin steak that was supposed to be medium rare but it was more medium to well and also extremely dry

First time visiting here after several recommendations and it didn't disappoint. Lovely first impressions, the atmosphere was cosy, the decor was really nice and the staff were really attentive throughout. We had a Sunday roast with all the trimmings which was delicious. Justine looked after us; she was super friendly! I liked how we didn't feel rushed to leave after our meal, even though it was busy. Reasonably priced and good quality food. Dog friendly too! Highly recommend 🙂

Cosy welcoming pub stumbled across after a Boxing Day walk, food was lovely, staff was welcoming and our dogs got extra TLC 👍

Came here this evening. Probably about 10 ish tables in so not mega busy, told on arrival they were out of approximately 40% of the main menu as the chef who ordered the food in had left and not put an order in( for a pub that’s just reopened its doors after previous mismanagement this is not what you want to hear). Was seated quickly , waited about 5 minutes before food and drink orders taken. We only had main meals , ordered a burger with an extra patty. Waited about 15 minutes for drinks to arrive to find the coke was flat. Asked waitress and she changed. Still flat. Didn’t say anything as it clearly wasn’t changing anything. After another 20 minutes I could see other tables who ordered their mains after us got theirs before us. Then a waitress came out and said that there was only 1 patty left and did I want halloumi instead. I begrudgingly agreed. Waited a further 20 minutes for our food to be presumably cooked from then and the burgers came out with patties that looked like they were frozen. The meat was almost rubbery like you’d get from a dodgy takeaway. Usually I wouldn’t mind this after a few pints but with the extras the burger cost 16 quid. Chips, were Luke warm at best and there was about 6. No coleslaw as pictured on Facebook. 2 other party members ordered the steak and ale pie and their meat was tough and chewy. Asked for sauces as not to make a scene and make the best out of a bad situation. 10 minutes later they arrived. All in all poor. Will not be returning even if the ownership changes. After the previous management I didn’t think it could get worse. Boy was I wrong. Also. The pictures I have provided 1 is taken from their Facebook and the other I took of my poor effort of a meal . Visited between Christmas and New Year. Was busy so book ahead. Food was good.

Small family birthday celebration - we made it despite the weather. Ate the 2-4-1 menu (Mon/Tue 5 to 8pm) - delicious all round & excellent value for money. Good service. Recommended. Would have been 5* but the dining room was cold (fire laid but not lit) & it would have been helpful if some of the car park had been cleared of snow/ice.
