Great service, excellent coffee, great cakes. We were staying in coombe Martin for 3 days, and visited the cafe on each of the 3 days we were there. Lovely

Walked around the harbour towards the town, we found this appealing cafe. We're from Wales so thought it would be nice to say hello (cwtch is Welsh for cuddle or hug). The Welsh owners were very welcoming (and speak perfect English for any of those who think this is just for Welsh people). We had a cream tea (and coffee) and spent a while in the company of these lovely, warm, welcoming people. It felt more like having a cuppa and catch up with friends. The walk up to the cafe is a little steep for anyone less able, but not too difficult, and it's definitely worth a visit to the cafe tea room. Had we planned on staying in Brixham longer I think we'd have popped in most days. They also have a "pay forward" scheme, whereby you can pay for an extra cup or food for someone who may need a little "cwtch" later in the day.

Delicious 3 course meal deal from Old Dairy Kitchen the treacle tart and fresh brandy custard was outstanding 😋

We're regular visitors to Mount Edgcombe park. We always try to visit The Farriers. The bacon sandwich (from the breakfast menu) is a fabulous start to any walk. If we're there later in the day then the cakes are our choice. All homemade. My husband votes for the fruit scones as the best he's tried Let's be honest he's tried a lot! I'm working through the cakes but confess the fresh cream Victoria Sandwich will take a bit to beat. Lovely staff, quick friendly service and a great atmosphere. Can't fault it and will be back soon.

Clearly an independent local business. Top grade food, sandwich made to order, with a friendly chat while doing so. Definitely a business to support.

Renovation has made this previously tired area worth a visit. It is bright and airy especially on Market days and quite well supported. So give it a try when visiting Newton.

This a a lovely little cafe in a beautiful setting with very friendly and helpful staff. I’ve given it 5 stars as I could see the quality of the meals coming out but I have to be honest and say that my friend and I had sandwiches, one white and one granary. Both of us, sadly, found the bread very dry with pretty much inedible crusts. The contents were really good but were a bit spoilt by the chef using margarine rather than butter. I do wish this didn’t happen as the sandwiches here and in many other places are quite pricey so you would think we could get butter? Anyway, we would go back but not for the sandwiches

The Weavers received strong recommendations, which often come with inherent risks. However, I must emphasise that my experience with them was consistent with the positive feedback I had heard. The Weavers is a community pub known for its friendly atmosphere. Recently, I had the opportunity to enjoy their Sunday Lunch, which stands out as one of the best experiences I've had in Wiltshire. The food at this establishment is presented appealingly, with generous portion sizes. The flavours are outstanding, and the service is exemplary. As a result of this positive experience, there is a strong likelihood of returning; a return visit is planned for today.

Poor quality sandwich, more bread than filling, and the price did not reflect what was served. Friendly staff but would not recommend a visit.

I've been coming here for about 10 years only ocationally but it never disappoints the cake especially the carrot cake with cream frosting is the most delicious cake seriously every mouthful is a literal pleasure the place it's self is so cosy with log burner and comfy sofa the people are so friendly and welcoming. I also recommend there restaurant in Honiton the yellow deli again here high quality and great service. Thank you from Rebekah, Michael and Fred

Wonderful little cafe, great sit-in area and excellent choice. Prices are reasonable. Would definitely visit again.

We had a lovely afternoon tea in the garden at Hillside on Tuesday 27th August. Our hostess was friendly and welcoming and provided a selection of sandwiches, fruit scones and cream, and a selection of cakes. It was hard to choose what to have first, coffe and walnut cake, Victoria sandwich, red velvet or chocolate fudge cake. We chose to stick with the usual tea but could have had other teas or coffee. Recientemente visité la cafetería Wild River en Polperro, y fue una delicia absoluta! Ubicado en la calle principal, esta acogedora cafetería ofrece un ambiente cálido y acogedor. El café recién tostado, de un solo origen es una necesidad - pruebe (¡incluso puede comprar algunos para llevar a casa! ) , y los pasteles caseros son perfectos. El personal era increíblemente acogedor y atento, lo que hace que nuestra visita sea aún más agradable a pesar de que el tiempo era horrible. Sin duda vale la pena pasar por si incluso estás en la zona.

Arrived in the cafe of this lovely station at 7.45am on a Friday morning prior to our journey home to Newcastle at 8.48am. The cafe too was lovely with empty tables so my daughter and I went in to have tea. We'd left St Ives at 7am in a storm and were tired and cold. The lady in the cafe said we'd have to take our tea into the waiting room, nobody is allowed to sit in cafe now as it gets crowded with people and luggage - these were no other people at all. So we had to sit in the cold waiting room prior to our 10 hour journey north where a hopefully warmer welcome awaited us. Empty cafe? Not allowed to sit inside?? Dark ages? Cornish hospitality????

Best cafe ever I joined a que as the cafe is very popular, Caroline the owner cooks everything from fresh even opened a tin of tuna for me and made me a takeaway sandwich she is brilliant a real inspiration makes everyone laugh and greets everyone she knows by name a true gem and really reasonable prices good luck with your surgery this week lovely lady.
