Had a great time again on Sunday while out on a walk and calling in here for Sunday Lunch ( small portions otherwise we would not make it back up the hill!) One of our favorite pub in North Yorkshire. In such a picturesque village too. We live a 35 - 40 minutes drive away and sadly only get to eat her a few times a year while taking in a local walk. However we have always really enjoy the experience whether it's eating in the characterful bar or the cosy restaurant. We have always found the food at the Fauconberg at worse very good, and at best outstanding. I also appreciate the quality of service, not just a battalion of teenager's on minimum wage, but a proper team who make you feel they are pleased you are there and genuinely want you to enjoy your experience! What's not in doubt is the value for money - a concept close to a Yorkshire man's heart!? :-)

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the Sunday Lunch The meat was very thinly sliced and very little of it The vegetables were boring, lacking any flavour and cold to taste We were first there and at least expected the food to be hot ~ as they should have been throughout the whole service We did tell the staff , but they did not come back with any reply Definitely not worth the £23 spent

Sat at an outside table in the sun. I ordered Fish Tacos. Took a while to arrive as they were busy but worth the wait. The scones are my usual go to as they are amazing but they didn't have any left! Have eaten here many times but never experienced their Gin bar.

The last time I visited, I was not particularly impressed with the service, if I'm honest, but as I was meeting up with a friend who suggested here, I was willing to give it another try. So glad I did!!! We went into the newly opened upstairs area, which has been beautifully decorated and had tasty teacakes and coffee with perfect service. Loved it

We're visitors to the area and we booked a table for dinner, not that we needed to as the restaurant was surprisingly quiet! We were made to feel very welcome, and the waitress was friendly and attentive. Food was excellent - I had Thai fishcakes followed by vegetable lasagne, my husband had king prawns followed by pork belly. Both of us really enjoyed our meals and would definitely eat here again.

Visited here for some lunch mid-week. After seeing the reviews we had high hopes but we were left a little disappointed when we found that our jacket potatoes were pretty cold- lukewarm at best. The coffee was great though, and we liked that it was dog friendly.

We had a lovely afternoon tea, 2 of my party were gluten and dairy intolerant and this was not a problem at all!! The sandwiches were huge and full of yummy fillings! All the cakes and scones were perfect as well, our only problem was we could not eat it all so we had a doggy bag for later. It was a fantastic way to start a few days away with friends! Afterwards we stayed for a Gonk making workshop which was very successful and we all managed to surprise ourselves!

Just off the road down to Aysgarth Falls with a big PaybyPhone / Contactless car park. Big cafe was a bit quiet when we went but coffee was OK. Decent toilets and nice gift shop. You can walk from the car park down a steep hill to the falls or the church.

We stayed for 3 nights and ate every night ,the food was very tasty and we enjoyed it. Unfortunately we were slighly disappointed with our room, details were missed ,a lightbulb needed replacing and when I opened our curtain in the morning the window sealant around the panes had dripped and not been removed which looked extremely unpleasant. There was a loose tile in the shower. There were no hand towels only on that day When I mentioned the bulb and window to the staff on Tuesday afternoon they said that they would sort it out which they hadn't done when we returned on Wednesday. We felt that the room wasn't up to superior standard as expected . On the plus side the room and bathroom were toasty warm, the water perfectly warm and the towels very soft. The breakfast cooks were very good as were the breakfasts and Tia who served us our meal Monday and Wednesday evening was excellent.

Got vouchers as a gift and then was saddened to hear they were closing, love,y ride across to find it very welcoming inside, the menu was varied We had the lamb and shepherds pie, small portions but beautifully served hot and very tasty. The desserts were tasty and presented with a tasty dressing The Venue is excellent, the food was beautiful and the staff were an absolute credit to the owner, sad it is closing
