The best restaurants serving British food in Dalton Kirklees Yorkshire and The Humber

Travelled up north from london for an event and stumbled upon this lovely cafe for Sunday breakfast. It was delicious. A basic breakfast and our plates were full. Very reasonably priced too.

I had the full english. Friendly service, regular procession of local customers all of whom have a chat and a laugh with the staff. Good and filling food

Beautiful presented food fish & batter and all food cooked to perfection i go there regular much better & cheaper than old england

We have attempted to book here twice with family. On the first occasion, we turned up and the gas wasn't working in the kitchen. No one had called us and let us know so when we got there we had to find somewhere else to dine with the kids hungry. On this occasion, I had booked a table for fathers day on the Thursday at 6am. Someone from the restaurant then called me on Friday at 5.30pm to tell me that our booking had gone through online, but there was no table allocated. The woman on the phone offered no alternative time for the booking and simply said with a rude tone that there wasn't anything they could do. When I asked why they'd left it nearly 2 days she said you only booked yesterday anyway. This has left us with no where to eat to celebrate fathers day. Due to this terrible service, we will not be choosing to dine here again.

As a regular this is a lovely place to visit. I was there as a birthday treat from my friend having afternoon tea. As usual it was lovely. We also had prosecco. I was just enjoying the last 3 quarters of my glass when the waitress knocked it over when collecting the plates. It didn't wet me but was totally emptied. You would expect a sorry, which she said and a replacement which she didn't get or offer 🤔 such a shame. Even when we paid and told the girl at the till it was still the same price.

I got a Carmel iced frappe wasn’t the best had a load of ice in and didn’t even get all the toppings which I normally have at every other costa and I also got a hot chocolate which had no cream or marshmallows was disappointing

Pleasant staff and chilled environment, the coffee needs work as it’s not very good at all. Also the fruit selection is poor, overpriced and often way passed its best.
