The best restaurants serving British food in Selby Yorkshire and The Humber

We had a table for five to celebrate my nephew's eighteenth birthday. Started off with a couple of drinks in the bar at the front and a game of pool waiting for everyone to arrive. Restaurant area was very spacious and the staff are friendly and attentive. The food we ordered was absolutely delicious. Each mouthful took me back to many a Mediterranean holiday. You couldn't deny the authentic flair. The chicken wings were unbelievable in flavour. We also ordered halloumi which was delicious with the chilli jam. The calamari never lasted two minutes on the table, I never had any but it smelled amazing. My nephew had the T Bone steak and again, cooked to perfection and was a very good sized and tasty piece of meat. I asked for a surprise and I got a mixed grill of which I was able to have my fill and take some home. Delicious salads, dips and flatbreads. Again, lovely, friendly and attentive staff and a great choice of food on the menu. The staff all came out to sing happy birthday at the end of the meal bringing out my nephew's birthday cake which we felt was another lovely touch. Recently having moved back to the village I'm just gutted we never went sooner. We need to make sure we do not lose this gem of a venue on our doorstep.

Very glad to post the pub has new owners who are great, the last landlord was not good, the villagers are over the moon with the new owners and wish them well.

A great lunch out with my husband, he had the steak and ale pie and I had the chicken and ham, lovely pastry, excellent service and friendly staff, the nicest place we have been in a long time for food

The pub was not very busy and the staff were very nice but the food was horrible!!! Everything was over cooked the mashed was microwaved and the stuffing was pack mix and raw onion. The meat was so overcooked it was not cut able the pork was like string, it was so bad I couldn’t eat it. We just paid and left.

My Birthday lunch at Hidden Tearoom was fabulous. As always, lovely friendly and efficient staff, fabulous food and great atmosphere. Home cooking/baking at it's best. Definitely recommend, and will be back ofcourse

Estábamos alojados en el pueblo en un Air BNB que reservamos para ir al pub para nuestra cena. Buena hospitalidad amable con un buen menú y comida y vino a un precio razonable. El servicio era bueno disfrutamos de nuestra comida y disfrutamos del pub todos los lugareños que tienen un buen tiempo.

Preciosa cena de domingo con amigos. Siempre mucha comida bien cocinada. Marc y el personal siempre amable y nada es demasiado problema.

Quite possibly the nicest soup I've ever tasted! Perfect delicate flavour, served beautifully. We also had the chicken shwarma, which was delicious! Loved the way the flatbread was heated till perfectly golden.

A regular stop off whenever we’re in Selby. The food is fantastic whether it’s a quick snack, full on Sunday lunch or special occasion. Mat, Gemma, Di, Chaba & all the staff are polite, respectful and… efficient. An enjoyable experience. Can’t recommend highly enough.

A brilliant pub with great atmosphere.

Feel really disappointed that they don’t cook their chips in veg oil anymore and just beef dripping. Therefore their chips are not even vegetarian 😞

Acabo de llamar al apagado - casualidad. ¡Tan contentos que lo hicimos! Una bienvenida muy cálida se extendió a mi marido y a mí de una joven muy amable y servicial (disculpas, pero me olvidé de preguntar su nombre) que sirve detrás de la barra. Mi marido y yo elegimos el pequeño plato de almuerzo del domingo. ¡WOW! ¡Nos sorprendieron las enormes porciones... y el enorme pudín de Yorkshire! La selección de verduras era muy abundante. Pero las goteras horneadas cubiertas sirvieron en un El queso fue una sorpresa inesperada. Absolutamente delicioso! Un pub local tan cálido y amable que sirve buena calidad, abundante comida ... no hay quejas aquí ... Gracias a todos.
