The best restaurants serving British food in Rural West York York Yorkshire and The Humber

Found this little oasis by accident. Definitely coming back. The staff were very kind and coffee was great too. I enjoyed the gluten free Lichfields salted caramel flapjack.

Literally stumbled upon this place. They managed to squeeze us in on a Saturday at 17.30. Would happily book next time.

Este es un restaurante bien presentado, el personal es muy amable y conocedor de los diferentes elementos de la amplia carta. La Gerente es muy buena en su trabajo y es una buena persona para hablar. La comida es fantástica y de primera clase y el menú de postres es algo para morirse. Recomendamos encarecidamente este restaurante y esperamos volver la próxima vez que estemos en York.

We visited on April 24th having read the good reviews on here. Arrived just after 6 and the pub was already quite busy ( always a good sign) but we got a table to eat ok. We then had an excellent pub experience of some good drinks and great food. The 3 young ladies who were serving both drinks and food were all very friendly,polite and efficient. The food was good British Pub food. I had Sausage and Mash and my partner had Gammon and chips. The pub itself was old fashioned but in the best sense, beams and fireplaces, loved it. Would definitely recommend but might be worth booking.

Good variety of dishes, covering all dietary requirements. Plenty of locals, always a good sign. Front of house excellent. Only niggle being our table seemed to be right in a ‘walkway’, but otherwise a super evening with friends.

We called in while we were waiting for friends to arrive in York. The pizza was really good. Beer was good.
