The best restaurants serving British food in England

An average bacon and egg sandwich in sliced bread was £5.99 to eat in. I also ordered what was a good cup of Tea. All served by friendly staff.

We went to Tallow for a birthday lunch. Every single mouthful was perfect. Delicious Monkfish starter. We had to swap and share the mains as we couldn’t choose between the pollock and the duck. Both were so inventive, beautifully presented and every aspect of the dish was absolutely delicious. The restaurant was warm and inviting. Service was perfectly timed and the staff friendly and welcoming. Try the ginger and pear mocktail. Perfect lunch.

Brilliant pub great and very welcoming especially to disabled I have just started to get the confidence to get back out as moved back In 2018 due to domestic violence and I personally think that the pub every staff member was more than helpful and the customer welcomed us and I have multiple anxiety issues and bipolar copd and fibermalga its a massive problem to get out as I aways hide and I always get serious anxiety and its the first time in possibly 10 years nothing made me feel like I was not part of the community even though I have only attended the place 3 times since 2018 to now thanks best customer service ever and as my 15 year old says I am a Karen lol see you weds to get all my spare bits for you to get rid off I really felt welcomed Im going early this week need a table lol

Expensive, poor quality. Called in for coffee and some scones, scones were clearly bought in..butter was straight out of the fridge. Not what the cafe used to be.

Great place for a special birthday celebration. A room to ourselves, delicious food and great service. Nothing was too much trouble.

Cooked to order, portion sizes are large, taste and quality are excellent! Not the cheapest but as I've not had fish and chips, gluten-free no less, this good for years, definitely worth it. Walkway entrance is on High St, once through, just keep going for about 20m.

Delicious coffee and a Hot Chocolate - super creamy. Lovely carrot cake not too sweet and such a nice perky addition of a mini ice cream cone on the side... Ta!

Nunca antes había pasado y llamado. Un lugar tan estupendo ambiente encantador gran personal (American Girl nos sirvió muy bien) Camareras servidas con papas fritas y agua de cortesía. Sin duda recomendaría este bar y volveré.

Great coffee. The food looked delicious although we'd already eaten. Really cute place. We will definitely be returning to try the lunch food and cakes!
