Booked 2 nights stay at this hotel for my partners birthday treat so we could explore the surrounding area. Arrived around 5pm after a long drive and was pleasantly surprised by how big the place was and how nice it looked at night, with the outside lights/veranda lit up. As soon as we got inside, the service and welcome that we received was lovely. After a quick tour of the room we headed downstairs for dinner, where again the service was great and the food was surprising for such a small hotel - it was amazing. Add to this that the chef quickly came out with homemade fresh out of the oven bread rolls....the smell was brilliant. The guy that looked after the front of house/served us breakfast was very good and very professional. Overall, our stay exceeded expectations and to top it off, it was dog friendly and had a lovely wee kids park in the garden. The only negative for me is that the bathroom radiator didn't work, so it was a little chilly - but things break, and I won't hold it against the hotel as these things happen and everything else in our room was lovely. Will return next year

The restaurant has basic pub style dƩcor. They only offered raw oyster on the menu and when I asked if I could have the oysters grilled or roasted, I was told the chef does not know how to do that. How is that even possible? If I could have, I would have gone into the kitchen and done it myself. As a starter, my husband ordered the raw oysters, and we both ordered clam as our main. The clams were nothing but ok, and not nearly as good as the ones we had at Sea Salt Bistro. What a bust this restaurant was. So sorry we did not stick to our original choice for dinner and did not follow a recommendation to dine here.

A nice wee pub with decent food. We stayed for a short stay at an air b n b in Dunblane and ate in here twice. Both times it was good service, decent hearty food with good portions and at decent price (especially against other local places). Well worth a visit. Ps. The turkey was banging haha

Been coming to Islay for years. Look forward to eating here on our annual trip. always a favourite with Mom, Dad and children. This year not so much. Something has clearly gone wrong. staff were miserable and food well even more miserable. Tasteless with no thought or care gone into it. we were so so sad to see this happen to Ardbeg and we wondered why? when owned by such a big luxury corporation LVMH this experience was anything but luxury.

I headed for Guardbridge in the hope of an early evening meal and perhaps a stopover nearby. The Guardbridge Arms was my destination, and I was quickly greeted and shown to a table in the bar area. Having kindly confirmed I was able to park overnight in their car park, I was able to have an alcoholic drink. There was a nice selection of bottled beers, including alcohol free lager, and a couple of beers on tap. I settled for a Scottish brewed lager. The menu had a nice variation of meals without the endless lists that generic restaurants seem to produce, and it was nice to hear the waiting staff offer child size versions of the adult meals. I'm no great fan of starters so I proceeded onto the main course, and considered the haddock and chips several times before opting for the braised beef, accompanied by red cabbage, carrots and sprouts and a jus The beef was beautiful, separating nicely when speared by my fork. The small pieces of red cabbage, the carrots and the sprouts were wonderfully cooked and complimented the bee perfectly. I'd been allowed to swap the mashed potatoes for chips and as a bonus I chose a portion of onion rings. They were cooked to perfection also. Having a dessert seemed the obvious end to a wonderful meal and I was guided towards the sundae by the waiter, he knows his stuff. Mint ice cream buried under cream and after eights. This restaurant is homely and a reminder that a family run restaurant can produce outstanding meals at fair prices. I'd hope to return in the near future to try the freshly caught haddock on the menu.

We were recommended to visit and were not disappointed! The staff are superb and the venue is lovely. Our food was excellent - one of the best lunches we have had in Fife this year! The fish and chips was absolutely delicious and husband said the vegan burger was too. Definitely will be returning - thank you š
