Went last minute with a group of 10 people and 2 dogs after another booking in the area had fallen through, they happily sat us for food and drinks. Really nice staff and good food with something on the menu for everyone. They were very happy to have the dogs and brought them water.

Came with my friend today. We both ordered dirty chips (one with and one without bacon) at £7.80 each and this is what we received. We both were taken back by this and couldn't believe the food we had been handed. Finished it in about 3 minutes and wasn't great. Vegetarian options were horrendous as nothing was labelled with a V for vegetarian. We were still hungry and ordered the cheesecake which was lovely (hence the additional star) however this was also way over priced at £7+ each (can't remember the exact price). We had to go up to the bar to order coffees as nobody came to our table, then we received them about 15/20 minutes later. Really not impressed and won't be returning. I also felt one member of staff in particular was quite rude to us after we asked if more chips were coming because the portion size was small. The brunette lady was lovely however.

Nice food, but sneaky sales and poor hotel. The hotel rooms are very small, the sofa beds are uncomfortable, unstable and not suitable for small children as they have large gaps. There is no lounge or common areas in the hotel and absolutely not family friendly. Myself, my husband and 2 year old daughter checked out of room 31, on a DBB basis. The main issue we have is about the DBB package. When presented with the bill, we were confused to see a charge for my daughter's meal. I've went back, checked the website and my booking and there is no indication that my daughter's meal was not included in the price of the stay. We stayed in a family room and paid extra for my daughter. At the restaurant last night and checking out, the attitude of the staff was disappointing. We were informed, 'we don't get many families here', indicating to us that children aren't really catered for. The issue that we have is that there was no indication that we would have to pay extra for my daughter or that all paid room occupants are not included in the deal. I've emailed and only received dismissive and disappointing responses. Go next door to Cameron House, it can be more expensive but miles better by every standard.

Our first visit here. Lovely hotel/ environment but very disappointed with the food in the Kailyard for a Nick Nairn restaurant. We expected so much more. My pork starter was very disappointing and the supplement of £6.50 for the prawn and smoked salmon cocktail is an absolute rip off, there was more iceberg lettuce than anything else & the prawns were the small frozen kind. The main course of tandoori sea bass turned out to be a wrong choice, far too dry….overall it’s been a really disappointing night and so unfortunately we will not be back here in a hurry.
