The best restaurants serving British food in Central Scotland

Beautiful hotel, great location to wander round the center. Staff were lovely. The bed was not comfortable, although room was well presented. No details on room service. Breakfast was not very warm but there was plenty to choose from. Parking - don't attempt to park in the hotel car park, walk down and check for a space, it's down a steep slope and extremely tight to reverse back out of, up hill if full.

We often visit for food and the food is very nice and good prices. A variety available on the menu. We like to get the 5 sides deal, waiting time for food is good too

We were there for Christmas Dinner yesterday everything was lovely except for the Brussels sprouts which were too hard and I saw the sprouts were left on a number of plates from nearby tables but the service was excellent when I booked I told them I was on crutches and they accommodated me very well. I can't say enough good things about the staff as they were excellent in all respects

I cannot recommend this place enough we were here as part of a group and I have got to say the dinner was amongst the tastiest and well prepared food we have ever eaten. We had three courses and each was full of flavour we left smiling and stuffed. Massive thank you to the chefs Blad and Jack for their amazing food both nights of our stay. We couldn’t have been more happy with the quality. The dining room is a relaxed setting and the waiting staff are so helpful.

Christmas menu pre-booked with friends . Food cold, no-one checked to see everyone was happy with the food. Way over priced for the turkey dinner, plus Jacobs crackers and the thinist slice of cheese possible served.

Solo había planeado venir a tomar un café y para leer por un tiempo, me hicieron muy bienvenido por Ruth, Nina y Lachlan que fueron todos muy atentos durante todo mi tiempo aquí. El colgante tiene un montón de mesas y un montón de espacio, pero se mantiene en la sensación acogedora con los muebles de madera y estantes que te rodean, me senté en la parte trasera bajo una claraboya preciosa, perfecto para la lectura. Después de revisar el menú no podía decidir qué tomar, ya que todo sonaba genial, Ruth, la dueña, me recomendó que probara el sándwich de pollo cajún caliente abierto. Fue perfecto. Claramente todo había sido preparado fresco, de hecho pude ver que estaba siendo preparado detrás del mostrador así que sé que lo era. Incluso me dieron una porción de papas fritas de cortesía, lo que me hizo sentir aún más bienvenido. En general una sensación encantadora, perfecto para un almuerzo reconfortante o un café y pastel tranquilo. Otros clientes a mi alrededor tenían la comida del desayuno, que también se veía muy bien. No podría recomendar este lugar más, estoy deseando volver a probar la remolacha wellington desde el menú festivo! Gracias Ruth, Nina y Lachlan!

Awful experience. Barstaff were surly, and the regulars were rude and argumentative. I shan't be going back in a hurry!

My essential morning americano served by friendly staff. Loyalty card too. Love the retro music 😀 Really good coffee puts others to shame.

The hotel was very clean, nice and spacious for our entertainment . Dinner was on point. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location is just perfect for a walk around the city centre.Staff so cool and friendly !

Very good meal at reasonable price. Great service - by Anna - very friendly person. Would recommend this restaurant.

We stopped by for Coffee and Drinks, excellent server very pleasant, knowledgeable and accommodating. We shall return.

Excellent food, great service. Cosy atmosphere next open fire. Dogs welcome. Good choice of cocktails, made properly.

Bought large items from argos, had baby in pram no bags or help offered .. kid seen all his Xmas presents as they were handed to me also 🤦‍♀️so lil disabled me struggled to the car lol
