The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

This is not my first time to My Shanghai, but it is the first time I have been in about a decade. The food was great, no complaints there at all. We had a reservation for the start of dinner service and the table we sat at was in the far corner next to the window. The window was open and felt a bit drafty. The server did offer to close it but there was evidence of a condensation problem as there was mould up the walls and around the windows so we didn't want to have it closed for this reason and didn't think it would be too bad. Boy were we wrong. We should've asked for it to be closed as our food went cold very quickly. As our meal went on, we did also think it was odd that they sat a reservation table in the corner by an open window at the beginning of dinner service when it wasn't too busy. The mould on the walls was also a tad bit odd putting as it did look like it had been cleaned previously, but not recently. Again, everything else was great just the atmosphere could be definitely improved with addressing the condensation issue and cleaning the mould.

Saturday lunchtime visit. Staff helpful but seemed a bit awkward with themselves, maybe on a trial shift? There was a wedding on next door so maybe they had been drafted in to help just for the day. Anyway, wines pleasant….as are the surroundings. I like the fact they automatically give you bottles of tap water too without having to ask. Unfortunately food was not great. We had steak (very hard to cut & chewy, despite being filet) with fries (undercooked) and chimichurri sauce (VERY badly made. Just a tasteless oil slick and I normally love chimichurri) £180 for 2 of us for lunch.

Poor quality ingredients. Tastes cheap (and even rotten and off in 1 instance with 1 starter which I had to subtly spit out - yuck!!)

When I booked our table month ago it categorically did not say set menu only for New Year’s Eve, this was obviously added later after our booking and had no notification of the change, we got there to be told it’s set menu only and I am vegetarian my husband is not, there was no accommodation at all for this we had to eat the same menu or leave , we had to leave the restaurant with our 18 month old baby it was awful. Never been treated like that before.

Just had lunch at the Poets house, delicious Pork Belly and a dessert to die for. The Chocolate Bomb that's I will dream about tonight

Unique iconic cozy pub/restaurant that we had visited for a Sunday roast. They should stick to pub classics and quit trying to be anything else. Dinner should be served with a microscope, so you can find the food on your plate. They were out of “salad” and out of some desserts. The coffee machine was broken so no coffee. My hake was a 2x2 inch piece of bland unseasoned fish with a mushy pea concoction that was soup. The mushroom ravioli came as four normal size ravioli. Four. About £6 per ravioli. We debated going to McDonalds on the way home. A+ place and atmosphere. D- for food and value.

Cheap open plan mass food environment devoid of atmosphere serving food that you could of microwaved from the cheapest supeready made section.

Went for a birthday celebration last night. Service was absolutely abysmal having to wait over 20 minutes just to get a drink. This continued when we were seated and we asked several times to order drinks and were told that a server was coming. All of our food was as brought out at different times meaning that some of our starters went cold while we were waiting for others to arrive. Not one person checked if we were enjoying our meal and staff seemed inexperienced and stressed! Food was only average and seemed very overpriced. I would not recommend or revisit this restaurant.

Staff are friendly. The food is brilliant It's a lovely restaurant a reliable restaurant for great food. The only downside is I don't want share with friends lol We go on Christmas eve, it's brilliant our family love it, we have booked for this year again

Comida que se remonta a los años 70 chinos. Mi comida local - lejos hace mejor comida. Si alguna vez has estado en China no vayas a Wings esperando la misma experiencia culinaria. Sobreprecio. Nos preguntaron si estábamos listos para el plato principal. Pedimos tiempo extra. Cuando apareció la comida estaba tibia, obviamente preparada y dejada en pie. Muy pobre.

Otra comida preciosa en este restaurante increíble! Clare que nos cuidó fue fabuloso nada fue demasiado problema, gracias Clare 🥰 Tienes que probarlo si estás en Liverpool no te decepcionará 👍
