The best restaurants serving Greek food in England

Yesterday was my first visit to Ottolenghi and it was absolutely wonderful. From the nicest welcome by the host through our waitress who patiently explained the concept and the dishes, all the way until we finished our desserts, everything was spot-on. The food is an interesting fusion of various Mediterranean cuisines - I loved the Turkish-inspired manti dumplings, as well as the chewy and crunchy tomato dish. Desserts were a class in itself, my favourite was the tahini-banana cake - the miso caramel on top gave it an extra depth. The whole experience was so fantastic, I would recommend Ottolenghi for any special occasion (it's not cheap, but for a special evening it's exactly the place I would go to). Oh, and the cocktail menu is sth out of this world - I tried a cherry gin cocktail with sumac and the combination of flavours was sth I would never even imagine. Tip: dishes are more of small tapas, sharing style plates, and many go well with bread. Remember to order bread as well as it doesn't come as a part of any of the current dishes.

Good reliable food and the vegetarian options were really good.

Broad menu, well cooked, very tasty food, served super hot, and lovely staff. Would recommend Sea Bass and Beef Tagine - delicious.

Was just a bit...meh? Felt like I was eating in a dingy hotel in the 80's. Didn't have any lemonade, had one vegan option - I know being vegan is my own choice, but when most other restaurants have at least 3 solid vegan options (not just a veggie option without cheese), it's all a bit mediocre. Reasoning for visiting was a last resort, as everywhere was booked up in December due to the markets.

Rick is the main man. 6 out of 5. Rick was amazing behind the bar. Great service 👍

Arrived cold and pizza was both incredibly dry but also chewy. Flavour of the sauce was too salty and the meat was gristly - couldn’t finish it.

I’ve been here before and the pies are nice. Vibe not so much..Honestly the attitude of the proprietor could do with some work.

Absolutely Appauling place! I witnessed a Customer due to the colour of their skin being treated really badly by the owner and staff. Would never eat their again. Racist place!

The staff was friendly (Julie was lovely!) The restaurant is well decorated and has a lovely ambience. The restaurant was warm and cozy. The food was beautiful and presented on slates which looks great! My son who is 10 really enjoyed his meal and my mom and dad had a great time! We have been there twice in 2 weeks! What beautiful people and beautiful restaurant!

Tropezamos con este restaurante indio en el camino de regreso al hotel. Buenos currys tradicionales hechos frescos. Pollo balti, pollo tikka, arroz y ajo nan. Muy sabroso y justo lo que se requería. Muy buen precio teniendo en cuenta la ubicación, dos curries, dos de arroz y dos de nano más dos Diet Coke para menores de 40 años. Volveré la próxima vez que esté en Londres.

I love this restaurant. You can feel the authenticity as soon as you walk in the door. A lovely environment, in a typical Greek taverna style, fantastic food with friendly, efficient service. Between us we had spetsofai, aubergine dip, stifado, gyros and souvlaki, and all plates were cleared! Will definitely revisit. Yamas!

Fantastic New Years Eve made the night with family so special the food and staff and live music were so amazing it just made out night thankyou .

Food quality was horrendous. I'm a coeliac and explained this to them but they still brought me a normal bread roll instead of GF. I could have been extremely ill if I'd have eaten it. My wife's chargrilled cauliflower steak was white and tasteless. When she complained she was told the chef didn't want to dry the cauliflower out so quickly put it in the pan. Do not waste your money in this restaurant.
