The best restaurants serving Indian food in St Albans East of England

First time I have been to the cinnamon lounge in a while. Wow 😮 what a treat, food is top notch, so tasty. Excellent value for money the staff are so friendly and attentive. Perfect location. I shall be back

Absolutely gorgeous food. The plans are great you can go set menu or banquet deal. However it’s very well cooked. Oh I almost forgot. It’s also very clean.

Brilliant curry, even made a garlic chilli chicken masala despite not being on the menu and was spot on. Good atmosphere and good price, cannot complain

Too inconsistent, quality of food at times is poor? Having to add extra charges to obtain order is a joke! This place has gone downhill this year, and won’t be ordering again, quality matters.

We had a takeaway. Meat was so tough. The supposedly mild dishes are so spicy hot that I couldn’t enjoy it at all. Unfortunately I threw my food away. They used to be so excellent. Not using them anymore.

This is now called 'India Gate' and though first appearance may lead you to think it's just another high street, Indian restaurant that offers a huge menu with all the British favourites like korma, madras, tikka then it's maybe not for you. The menu is much smaller and they actually cook the food in the kitchen as opposed to heating pre-cooked meat up in ready made sauces. Very attentive service and very reasonable drinks prices.

So so sorry but our last experience was dreadfully disappointing, popped in after a day out and just wanted a few starter's. myself and husband ordered a bottle of house wine, warm had to ask for ice to find it was a bottle of Sainsbury own wine chein blanc (£5.50 a bottle) stunded i know i should have taken a photo. samosas were what you would buy in any supermarket. awful 😖. WILL NEVER RETURN. Final bill was £50.00 For 5 starter's & charged a £20.50 for the wine.

This must be one of the longest serving restaurants in St Albans. I liked old authentic decorations better before, it looks to modern now. Food was very nice, servers were attentive..
