The best restaurants serving Indian food in County Durham North East

2 and a half hours absolute joke. I know it's New Years Eve but come on if you've not the staff don't take so many bookings and don't do takeaways on a very busy new years evening. Booked table for 6 people for 7.30pm well in advance of New Years Eve. Table not ready when we arrived so had a 30 min wait for our table. Eventually shown to our table, drinks ordered and served and 45 mins later still hadn't taken our order. Went and complained at bar and sent someone to take our order then had over 40 mins wait for our food. The food was very good but service let's it down

What can I say, I had visited last night with a group of friends and I would like to say I was not disappointed at all, from start to finish the service was amazing and the food was splendid, one thing I would like to say a restaurant in January usually tend to be quiet however this restaurant was fully rammed out, clearly doing something right. I would recommend everyone to give this place a try and words deffo speak for itself.

Visited for a treat to end the year in style Table booked in October and we added a family member 2nd week in December they couldn’t find our reservation😩 we arrived at least 15 mins early and were shown to our table 5 mins later drinks ordered. Asked if we wanted popadoms duly brought to table in timely fashion but the yoghurt and mango chutney were so runny. We ordered our food and waited and waited and waited. The restaurant was full lots of people waiting we noticed noone was eating their main meal. People in their lounge waiting for takeaway waited ages too; drivers calling to pick up meals for customers who had ordered via apps. We had waited 2 hours from entering the restaurant before we asked the manager what the hold up was. We were told 5-10 mins at most by waitresses who were very busy whole time we were there wsitresses (school kids were sent to apologise for delays) 25 mins later my son, a chef himself, went to see the manager and was shown into their kitchen to view their chef and team working hard. That was never the grievance; our grievance was we had been sat 2 and half hours no sign of our meals. One table paid for their drinks and left as they had waited too long. Another table being charged for food the hadn’t ordered. We got our coats on and were leaving the table when our food appeared. Being so hungry at this point we sat back down and ate meals paid for them and left the restaurant. No placating words from management just shown into the kitchen (surely a breach in H&S and Hygiene). We will never go back. May have helped if management had apologised for delays or offered a free drink or had taken ownership of the fact the restaurant had been greedy ny taking takeaway orders and orders via apps with a full restaurant- bad management decision- whilst inadequate staffing ratio in kitchen.

Absolutely delicious, staff were lovely and attentive. Would definitely go back again ☺️

One of the cartons was damaged so had lost some of the sauce and the nan breads are on the smaller side so make sure you get more than you think you need BUT I wasn’t that bothered as the food was delicious.

Ordered delivery for quarter to 7 and hasn’t arrived 40 minutes later tried phoning up to ask where it is 10 minutes ago and I live less than 5 minutes away and it’s been coming any minute now for the past 10 minutes. Didn’t get anything but attitude when I phoned them aswell

The food here is absolutely amazing since it has changed hands it’s even better than it used to be and I was never disappointed before. I would highly recommend this restaurant because the food is grate quality. the service is at high Standard atmosphere is great especially the guy at the front house he is amazing with customers always has a smile on his face dressed very smartly always try’s his best The place is immaculate. The toilets are really really clean and always smell superb I would Definitely highly recommend it’s our go too indian restaurant in Chester Lee street we would t go elsewhere other than this place it is a must please try for your self you will not be disappointed 10/10 5 star all round thanks Guys keep the good work up 👍

First of all, I loved the Biriyani! I haven’t had this delicious food anywhere else around Durham , I’m new to this place, and I’ll definitely visit again 🫶and staff also very welcoming!

Service for delivery is really bad. I ordered at 18:00 (opening time) for it not to arrive and asked to wait another hour !! Not the service you would expect from a delivery service at the moment

Had the meat thali, but changed my rice and nann, which they were happy to do. As take ways go this was delicious, fresh flavours and good ingredients. Nice staff and efficient service, would highly recommend.

Had a takeaway last night it can be a bit hot and miss but generally good. Last night was dreadful to the point of “never again” the over use of red food colouring is frankly absurd. I can only think it has changed hands. Why can takeaways in the north not get the basics right.

Horrendous!!!! After waiting almost 2 and a half hours the food eventually came. Needless to say it was cold so chef Mike came to the rescue. We called a couple of times only to be told it’s on its way and we’ll give you a discount on your next order 🤣 No thanks.

Disappointed My vegetarian curry was mainly carrots and sprouts never had sprouts in a curry before. No spices very bland. Vegetable bhuna a very disappointing dish. I must say the chips were good The lamb madras was short of meat but the rice was ok . I hadn’t visited in a while because last time the sag aloo was my main dish and it was disappointing also. How ever before these visits we use to really enjoy our food here , don’t know what has happened ?
