Never had such a slow or bad service while a place was completely empty. Everything was dripping/smothered in grease from the poppadoms to the main meals. Stomach upsets the day after; won't be back, defo can't recommend.

Excellent menu choice ,staff friendly and attentive. All food well presented and delicious.one of our party has some diatribe needs and the owner took time to understand and adjust the meal to meet her needs.Nothing was to much trouble.

Eating in has always been good, haven't been since Covid though. Food when taking away is always good too but unfortunately it is never ready on time when you go to collect it. This was the case before and after lock down. Best to get them to deliver, at least you can sit in the comfort of your own home when the delivery is late

Me and my boyfriend come here most weeks normally on a Saturday which is the busiest day and we can't say anything bad about the place. Food may take a little time to come out on Saturdays but it's worth the wait! Mushroom korma is probably the best korma I've had. Highly recommended. Food is great and extremely cheap, 3 course meal for 2 of us is always under 20 pound including drinks. Can't go wrong. Yaz and the lazy with blonde hair are always welcoming and funny.

Frequent diner at Indian restaurants across Christchurch, Great parking area, reasonable sized dining capacity, very clean and looked flavourous. However, hindrance showed up after our sitting. The assistance declined since. Normally minutes after sitting, water was on the table (was a very hot evening) Only one another sitting with 2 people were dining when we sat down. There were two staff available for serving and another 2 were in the kitchen. We waited for a bit and when staff was unseen in the restaurant, one of us called over and requested for water. Water was served and the staff disappeared again. Later another person from the table walked to the bar, called out for service and ordered some drinks. Incorrect request was delivered. Kitchen close time was 9.45pm and we were not served than. However were served a few minutes later. The servings were smaller for the price than other Christchurch Indian restaurants. Lots of gravy or paste and little meat. The pieces of naan served didn't match our order, and only one serving dish of rice was on the table for six diners. The closing time being, 9.30pm we were still dining. Cups of tea were excessively sweet as sugar was added in the kitchen, instead of having a bowl of sugar on the table, so could be added by individuals to their taste. Staff face masks were removed before settling our accounts.

Decided to visit this place as always see a line of people. I had a half hottie meal with the truffles mushroom and cheese, and a cheese biggie toast. It was pricey, and for what it cost, the food was very overwhelming. The cheese on the biggie wasn't fully melted, just the top with cold cheese underneath, and chillies were just thrown on top The hottie was bland with not much filling. The crust of the bread was very hard. The best part of the meal was the fries 🙃

My twin brother Stephen and I were walking down High Street when we decided to drop into The Sandwell Pub and what a lovely pub this is . Walking in and I knew I would enjoy my visit here, a big single roomed pub ,the main room is dominated by a solid wood serving bar, tv's to enjoy the sport and plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub, a really good pub to chill out in. We were greeted with a smile by a very pleasant member of the staff, we gave our details of name and phone number to assist with the governments track and trace system and then sanitised our hands and ordered a dark fruit cider each, these were served in excellent condition being iced cold and sparkling and we just kicked back and took in the great pub we were in. My cider was totally refreshing, a crisp, effervescent and iced cold cider that certainly cut through the thirst, on a hot afternoon it was just what we needed. We really enjoyed our ciders in here and although we only stayed for the one each before moving on for a first time visit to here we were totally impressed with this pub. The Sandwell Pub is easy to locate along High Street, its facing the beautiful Catholic Church Of Saint Michael And The Holy Angels . Opening hours are ( covid 19 ) ,11am till 10pm. A great pub ,if your in the area most definitely well worth a visit

I have visited Chaiiology a couple of times now. The tea is excellent. I have tried the tandoori, karak and pink chai and they are all perfect. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and I look forward to trying some more food and drinks from the menu next time I visit.

Recently dining we left feeling disappointed. The food was average and very overpriced. We were the only people in the restaurant and still did not feel the staff were attentive. We were sat in the window which was very cold. Staff did ask if we wanted to move when we were 1st seated but said no as assumed it would warm up. It did not. We were offered water and poppadoms but not told this was at a charge. £4 for a bottle of water is steep poppadoms where £5 which with dips we felt was a fair price and very good. We ordered cocktails which were good. We ordered our food with a different waiter (we waited 20mins to place the order). Starters arrived and were ok nothing special. We had table cleaned and asked would we like mains now or to wait 10mins. We said now but still waited over the 10mins. Mains came and were disappointing. The butter chicken was more tomato than creamy and sauce was thin also 6 small pieces of chicken £18. My wife had lamb shank which was a very good size portion and very tasty £22. We did wait a bit for table to be cleared and then a dessert menu brought. We waited 15mins to have the dessert order taken. All 5 staff were stood around the bar talking. 3 having a conversation with 1 person. Due to the delay I did not order a dessert or drink. My wife had a black forest martini and gulab jamum. The glad was very nice but 2 balls and 1 scoop of ice-cream was small. The martini wasnt great. The menu did not mention cream and this took always from the taste. We had 50% off food and still paid over £100. The 12.5% service charge is added before discount was so it's more like 20%. If the tip was discretionary I would not of been tipping near that amount. For the price we paid I feel food and service needs a big improvement. We will not be back in a hurry. Also the toilets are a fair distance from the restaurant and shared with the hotel next door.

Ordered a mixed grill. Unfortunately it’s not for me. The food tastes more like boiled with colouring on it. Wish this had been BBQ as it supposed to be . It lacked flavour that can get be be added only by charcoal. They should be clearer that the food is not bbq
