The best restaurants serving Italian food in England

Passing through Mirfield on the navigation on a Saturday, couldn't be bothered to cook so sought out something a little more upmarket than the pub's burgers. This restaurant is around 3/4 mile out of town and at first sight situated in a less than ideal location, next to an industrial/trading estate. But once through the doors, a warm welcome - the proprietor juggled tables to make room for the three of us (around 1800) on what was otherwise a fully booked evening. We all opted for the salmon special on a bed of spinach, veg or salad side dish included at £19.50. Fish precisely cooked - big tick! The usual range of Italian puddings, and none the worse for that as they were very well done. Went off-piste with the wine, a NZ sauvignon blanc (at £28), in order to get a drier mouthful than the house white. So, around £108, before tip, for the three of us - acceptable for food and wine of this standard. Would return (with a booking!) if in the area again.

Absolutely brilliant place. Been loads now and not one complaint. Food and service are great and prices reasonable (compared to certain chain Italians 😜). Will definitely be back!

Fantastic meal with partner. Waitress and chef were very accommodating and honestly the best goats cheese pasta dish I’ve had. Partners peppercorn sauce and Diane sauce was a little unique, however the steak was cooked to perfection - so perhaps the sauce was just unique to tosca’s.

Some dishes were nice and some was a bit disappointing. I had mussels for starter which was nice but the calamari was very sad looking and small for the price. We ordered crab & prawn linguine, tagliatelle with broccoli and spaghetti meatballs - although dishes looked tasty but was bland and slightly overcooked. Others ordered pasta with pistachio and pizza which looked ok , veal covered in breadcrumbs was so thin that you couldn't taste the meat but just the crunchy crumbs. Service was wonderful, it's a lovely restaurant and they were quite busy but sadly it's not to our taste.

Great food, good value and should be busier for the quality. I was the only person dining on a Thursday evening. House wines were a bit average.

Enjoyed a meal this Evening with my wife, daughter & grandson, first time we’ve visited and was greatly impressed with the reception on arriving, the food & service excellent totally enjoyed the visit & will be returning in the future

Always very high standard of food. Staffs are very friendly and child friendly. Try their specials, always a nice surprise. Recently i had the scallop as starter and mixed clams linguine from special menu. It was absolutely divine.

A really authentic gastronomic delight tucked away inconspicuously in central London. Food is very tasty (I recommend the gnocchi sorrentina) and very well priced. It’s like a little bit of Italy on your doorstep. I love it!!! 🍕🍕🍕

Excellent service! We came on Saturday 21 September for a late lunch. Chiara (the waitress) was very friendly and welcoming. She greeted us with a big smile and explain the menu and specials very well. We ordered pizzas which were very good. The dessert (tiramisu) was very nice. The waiter was very professional and courteous. We will recommend Siracusa to our friends and family. We will be back! Thank you.

Came for a birthday lunch as a table of 10. From the moment we booked, the team were extremely helpful and went out of their way to accommodate us. On the day we were late due to traffic and still received 5* service. Food was fantastic, atmosphere was great. Definitely in my top 5 eating out experiences

El personal era muy agradable y explicó el menú. El servicio fue muy rápido. La comida también era muy agradable, tuvimos espaguetis boloñesa con parmigiano reggiano, espagueti carbonara con pecorino y gricia con tagliatelle y parmigiano reggiano.

Un excelente restaurante local alejado de los caminos trillados. Excelente comida y servicio amable en un pequeño restaurante muy agradable. Sin duda volvería.
