I dined at Decimo, located on the 10th floor of The Standard Hotel, London, for dinner. The restaurant serves a mix of Mexican and Spanish cuisine. I had visited once before for lunch when they first opened, so it was nice to return for dinner with friends. The atmosphere and interior are truly iconic! You can tell no expense was spared in the details and layers of design. Just stunning! The hotel itself and other venues have a mid-century, 70s aesthetic, and Decimo follows suit but with more Mexican-inspired elements. The restaurant offers 360-degree views of London, but my favorite view is actually from the bathroom! The food was absolutely delicious, but the portions were so tiny that at one point, I couldn’t believe the size of my 1 portion tostadas! 😅 For the level of sophistication and the price point, it pains me to say this, but the service was disappointing. We ordered a LOT from the menu, but when the food arrived, nothing was explained. Three of our starters never came, and we had to repeat our orders and chase for our drinks. That said, the company was great, and we still had a fun night!

We go to chiquitos all the time and never have any issues, until today. We always pay separately when me and my friend go, however today they wouldn’t let us only because we had 2 free starter discounts. When we asked to speak to the manager about this, she came over very abruptly and then said “You asked to speak to me” instead of how can I help or something along those lines. Then mid conversation she decided to walk away, and glared back at us later. This is no way to treat customers, especially with being a manager. Me and my friend both work in hospitality and understand that this is no way to speak to customers.

It was ok, over priced and a taxi too it means I probably won’t go again unless it is a birthday location or something. The menu has barely changed for years, they are pricing themselves amongst the likes of The Broughton in Crewe which is by far nicer. My burger was £22 with salt and pepper fries and it was nothing special, the cocktails are nice though. 2 courses, 2 cocktails and a taxi split between 3 people from Crewe is £80 a head. The place was mostly empty and I can see why.

Very pleasant ambiance for low key yet special gatherings. Food is good, slightly overpriced for what they’re serving you however. Most people just come here to hang out, not so much for the food itself. The bar/lobby is nice and so is the mirror room for obligatory selfies.
