Although trying to diet couldn't resist the steak & kidney pie. Mmmmmm out of this world absolutely delicious. Can't wait for my next trip, the diet will be put on hold that day. Staff very friendly & polite & the small outside eating area looks great for when the weather is better.

Love it here! Food great, staff great, menu great, very welcoming for a single female too! Like an old style cafe but some modern choices.

Excellent service, great food, lovely cocktails. Huge portions, friendly staff. We visit regularly and have never been disappointed. The server was cheerful and attentive. We were even given a box to take some food home, as we couldn't eat all of it. So much more than welcome expected.

We were stuck in traffic on the M25 which was going to get worse so we headed off to find a pub and discovered this lovely place. Very friendly welcome when we came in. Lovely beer on tap (Badger brewery - fursty ferrit), very well kept. The food was great, we had the pie of the day, which was Steak and kidney and I had the Classic Burger. was a little pricey, but food was of good quality. Service was prompt and friendly. We will definitely go again when we are passing.

We got there early so had a coffee and cake from inside the foyer. My latte was made from a sachet of powder so had lumps in but the very overpriced cake tasted like it was made a week ago. I opted for the hedwig cake at £9.95 and it was awful. Solid as a brick, solid sponge, a small taste of custard inside and lots of buttercream. No way was that cake fresh. My daughter had a death eater cake. Chocolate with a tiny cherry filling at £8.95. Hers was also very dry but not as bad. If you are buying these, ask if they are freshly made. Otherwise its a lot of money to waste.

We decided to try this local pub out tonight and were not disappointed. The food was really good and the service was warm with plenty of banter.. they were so accommodating and so I look forward to returning. It’s also really good value for money which definitely makes for a nice change.

I am lost for words to describe my meal at our local spoons. I decided to have the brie and cranberry burger. When it arrived I could not believe they would actually serve this to someone. The bun was toasted to an inch of its life. The two patties were burnt so badly they looked like tarmac and they were so thin they could have been run over by a steam roller. I asked for a replacement which when it arrived was no better. I was so hungry at this point I had a go at eating it. The only plus to the whole experience was the two pigs in blankets and the chips. I will think twice before ordering food there again. It was a busy night in there but no excuse to serve sub standard food.

At Caffè Nero Rickmansworth my drink is never accurately made - based on the description on the board and when I ask for the missing ingredients to be added, I get a look of disgust like I’m a total inconvenience and the correct drink is slammed onto the counter in disgust. After all if I’m paying for a drink as described, I think I’m entitled to it as described? The Caffe itself can be quite busy which is not an issue in itself but the staff rarely get the chance to tidy up or wipe the tables. Expect to have to do that yourself. What’s interesting is that Caffè Nero don’t have a feedback function on their www. Missing a trick or just not interested?

The pub is nice, great location and in theory is warm and cosy - great for winter drinks or summer in the gardens. However, on my last 3 attempts to visit, I have barely got through the front door only to be confronted with “yes?!?! Can I help you?!?!” and as I explain that (shock, horror) I’ve come for a drink at the bar, I’m told that the pub is closed - on all 3 occasions this has been around 9 / 9.30pm and well within the advertised opening hours. Last night, the pub wasn’t actually closed but I still couldn’t get served as the last explained “it’s been quite quiet tonight so we want to close early” and so we were turfed out. Wouldn’t mind but it’s not exactly in a central location and you have to drive here realistically, getting bored of going all that way only to be told my custom isn’t worth staying open for. It is a shame because the one time I got served, it seems like a nice place that I’d really want to visit regularly but no longer convinced that this is under reliable ownership or management nor that it actually values its customers.
