First the staff were excellent. The issue was we booked and special lunch for my elderly parents. When we arrived we were told they were closing for a refurb and were running down stock. We were handed a long list of what wasn't available. It was also very cold. Better communication in advance would have helped.

I took my family for Sunday lunch @ the old england kitchen and I can say it was lovely. Great Service, lovely food and nice beer. Very competitive prices and we would all return.

This pub is ok when they actually have food on they advertise a carvery till 8 we turned up at 5.30 it was our 35 wedding anniversary and we wanted to go out for a special dinner we were going to have all three courses and a few drinks only to be told they didn’t have any carvery left really bad management to run out of food two and a half hours before closing we ended off coming home and our special meal was beans on toast it’s a ok pub for a quick meal but don’t go there for any special occasion they will just let you down

We had a large family meet-up here and couldn't have been more pleased. The staff were lovely: welcoming, friendly and professional. The café/restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere and us very comfortable. The menu is varied, including vegetarian and vegan options, and the food was delicious. The centre has a very well-stocked shop, including and extensive range of frozen food. Close to the A66 but surrounded by beautiful countryside, this is a great place to go for a walk, followed by a visit to the café and shop. The Reclamation Centre looked interesting but was closed on the day we visited. We will definitely return at the first opportunity.

Ordered BBQ chicken loaded fries and was served frozen chips not fries with frozen strips of chicken covered with cheese and a squirt of BBQ sauce. Husband had pie of the day, said the pie was nice but the gravy was lumpy and too thick won’t be going back there again

After choosing our venue, let’s face it, it’s simply a great location. We entered the establishment and were greeted by friendly, smiley staff who gave lots of options of where to sit. This place is a rabbit warren, at every turn you see another room that’s quirky and beautifully presented. Such fun decor. The toilets are the same except that the toilet seats are way too small for the toilets 🚽. Minor detail, but you know what they say, the devil is in the detail. We had drinks and food. Food was okay, as were the drinks. My friends weren’t overly keen on the gap as food reached the table. I’d ordered my food earlier so that wasn’t a problem. But my 3 friends ate theirs one at a time. As one finished their plate of food another meal arrived. So as it turned out, no one ate at the same time. But hey ho, never mind. Small issues. The lady who worked the upstairs bar and served us food was lovely. Such a nice girl. Big shout out for her. Sorry, we didn’t catch your name. But we came in at 1pm and left around 4:30 -.24thJuly. so you must know who you are.

Visited first time after lock down (I believe it’s opened under new management) on a Saturday afternoon. Booked a table for food and glad we did as it was very busy. The service was slow but this was mentioned on our arrival as they were under staffed and didn’t predict how busy it would be. However, the atmosphere was fab (lively, sport on the TV and a range of music was been played) and at the time we hardly noticed the wait between drinks and food! We ordered three different meals (Yorkshire Pudding, Cheeseburger and chicken and cheese baguette) portions were huge (for £6.95 each) and delicious. Lager and cider were reasonably prices too. Hopefully the place gets a well needed refurb under new management as it is the only negative - but I appreciate the pub has just recently reopened and Rome wasn’t built in a day! We’ll definitely be back.

Another fabulous visit to the Curlew Cafe at High Farm Holiday Park, wonderful friendly welcome. Great lunch and cake, followed by a lovely walk round the animals. Great place, with lovely views. Need to come back with the grandchildren
