Wife and I called in today and found the staff were all very friendly and helpful. The latte's were excellent and the bacon sandwiches were superb. Wife is gluten free but this was not a problem. Also had a selection of gluten free cakes. Quick service and reasonable prices. Will certainly use this place next time we are in Carlisle.

A nice meal and range of food and drink in the old fire engine room. Sitting in the area where the fire engines used to deploy from until the mid 2000’s with interesting wall pieces.

So sad to hear the Hideaway has closed.Had a fantastic meal on Christmas Day with 10 of my family.Dinner was amazing, the effort these guys put in to ensure our day was perfect.was brilliant.Such a shame.Hope they reopen elsewhere.

I've been eating my lunch at Coffee and Cream whenever I am working in Carlisle for the past few years and I love it. The jacket potato with cheese savoury is the best I have ever had anywhere and I really appreciate the frendly personal service. Highly recommended.

Had heard lots of good things about the Arches and have to agree it really is one of the best places for a proper breakfast. Lovely old school charm with table service and lovely friendly staff. The breakfast was great with lots of choices. We will definitely be going back there and highly recommend it too 👍

First time visiting this lovely homely cafe the other day. I ordered a soup and baguette to takeaway. The food was lovely and the service was fantastic, the lady who prepared the food and served me was very pleasant, good old fashioned customer service. Very rare! Thank you, I’d definitely call again when passing by.

Ordered chicken salad & chicken burger. Croutons were hard as rock and the burger was soggy. Lovely ambience and the service was quick. The waitress did check about the food , but it was like: how’s the food ? Alright yeah, enjoy then left. ( she asked & answered by herself ) 😂

Disappointed that from the moment we sat down, we were told we had a hard stop just over 1hr. Despite this, the food took over 50 minutes to arrive. We were then told once the food had arrived that someone was coming for this table in 20 minutes. We should not have been given a seat if the timing was so tight, nor should we have been reminded four times that we needed to be quick. Unfortunately, the food did not compensate for this issue and was overly salty and overpriced for the quality. I did however appreciate the vegetarian menu.

Always my favourite bar in Carlisle. The staff, drinks and decor are second to none. Whether it’s a lovely day enjoying the beer garden or a typical English weather day enjoying being sat by the fire this bar has it all covered. The hospitality is always out of this world and brings that elevated extra touch each time you visit. The attention to detail on the design of each area really makes each space luxurious and different to typical bars, highly recommended a visit for any occasion.
