This little tea rooms is part of the lancashire mining museum. Served at tables by a lovely friendly and attentive waitress. Tea served in old fashioned tea pots, and china cups and saucers, do a good range of home made cakes. Lovely little place, has pictures of the former mines,

The Red Door Bistro – Wigan’s Best-Kept Secret Tucked away behind an unassuming red door in Wigan, this little gem is easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted by a warm and intimate atmosphere. The dim lighting created the perfect cosy setting, making it feel like a special hidden retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The service was nothing short of exceptional even tho there was 8 of us for a anniversary. The staff were incredibly attentive, ensuring that every detail of our meal was just right without ever feeling intrusive. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations were spot on, adding a personal touch that made the evening even more enjoyable. Now, let’s talk about the food—absolutely incredible. Each dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavour, clearly crafted with passion and skill. Every bite was a delight, from the starters to the desserts, with fresh, high-quality ingredients shining through. What truly set the experience apart was the personal touch from the head chef, who came out to speak with us. Hearing about the inspiration behind the menu and the love that goes into every dish made the meal even more memorable. It’s rare to find that level of dedication and connection in a restaurant, and it’s something that will keep me coming back. If you’re looking for an intimate, high-quality dining experience in Wigan, The Red Door Bistro is a must-visit. It may be hidden, but once you find it, you’ll never forget it.

Had a brilliant evening at the monthly open mic. I had to leave early but saw some great singers. The landlord showed me round to where I could put my disability scooter. The staff were lovely and the beer choice incredible. Wonderful atmosphere and lovely audience. Highly recommended ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
