Question âDoes the baguette come with a salad garnish or crispsâ? Answer âYesâ. Unsure why we paid extra for the salad that we were told was a garnish. Makes sense why the other baguette was just that, a baguette. Not even made to look pretty, just a roll đ€·đ»ââïž We didnât have any cake đ But thanks for your reply đđđ»

Nena makes one of the best espressos Iâve had in the UK. The coffee is awesome. I drive ten miles to have a coffee here rather than have a vastly inferior coffee locally. Their Pasta Del Nataâs are wonderful, the pastry is fine and flakey/crispy, and the custard perfect, not overly sweet. They really delight the senses with a light dusting of cinnamon. Every pasty Iâve tried is fresh and delicious, the cheesecake is an experience. If there was a criticism, Iâd say their sourdoughs are a bit light, not quite as springy crumb as others, but otherwise, itâs the perfect bakery/cafe/restaurant. 10/10!!

Excellent. I had a delicious lamb casserole (with mint sauce - beef casserole also available), some tasty bubble & squeak and two lovely Yorkshire puds and a fresh pot of tea - all for ÂŁ9.00. Amazing value and quality, the retro atmosphere is perfectly curated for a great experience, absolutely recommended.

They don't accept reservations It is better to arrive around 10 AM or noon on a busy weekend so that tables are available quickly Outdoor and indoor seating available Indoor seating has tables for two which can't be joined together and bench for 4-6 people Seating is quite congested Vegetarian and non vegetarian entrees. Order at the register Service is fairly quick Servings are good and most dishes are cooked well Price moderate

Stopped there while out on a cycle ride. Pointed to and ordered what I thought was the last piece of a lemon drizzle cake. Disappointingly, they cut that in half!

We booked for my birthday, a usual clash with Christmas festivities, the team ensured there was no overlap and the birthday acknowledged. The roasts were plentiful and all enjoyed, extra gravy added to soak up the huge Yorkshire pudding. Apple crumble and custard was lovely, though we had food envy when we saw the huge puffy souffle's being delivered to diners on a nearby table. Our main server was efficient, pleasant and helpful, keeping on top of the busy dining room. Thank you for a wonderful visit, you're now on our No.1 list for Sunday Roasts, but also keen to try other items from the menu. Drink options were plentiful. Best wishes, Debbie

We recently hosted a Christmas party in the function room downstairs. The process of planning the party was made so easy by managers Claire and Jess and on the night the staff were so friendly and helpful, it made the whole thing an enjoyable experience. We have had many comments on how lovely the venue was and a great atmosphere in the function room.

they just hosted a party for my mums 80 th birthday , after travelling around several pubs in the area we chose the chequers tree after visiting and talking through our needs with the landlady , who couldnât have been more friendly and accommodating , laid out the back room with lovely flowers and decoration and a buffet , didnât mind going along with our plan for a surprise party , food was really good and very inexpensive compared to other local pubs that couldnât offer the same service, thank you it really made my mums day and itâs given her memoryâs to cherish forever
