Popped here on way home as love old country pubs.. It is beautiful inside..old beams and a log fire..so cozy.. We both had veg soup and half a tuna mayo sandwich.. Also had thatchers cider...delicious.. Soup was hot and the sandwich was huge and packed out with tuna mayo.. Had a quick look at the garden..it has lots of different areas including an outside tv area.. Young girl serving our food was sweet and friendly.. We will be going back in the summer with our little dog as that garden is fab😁

We booked as a group of 3 for the 3 course Christmas menu at 2pm. Our choices were pre booked and everyone agreed that the food and the experience was first class. Plenty of fresh veg, attentive staff and no pressure to leave even though they were closing. We left a tip for staff. It was on the pricey side but worth it. Something to consider - I wish you were open more regular hours. We hope to come back to lunch soon. Definately recommend.

We just had our Christmas meal at Shanicatti Shakes there was 10 of us. We had Afternoon tea, it was beautiful, sandwich’s, hot pastries, scones, chocolate flapjacks, sticky toffee pudding, apple crumble…. All made fresh and presented beautifully. I have to say it was so nice to do something different that wasn’t your standard Christmas meal. The service and love and care they put into what they do is outstanding. If you want a treat please go there you will not be disappointed. Thank you Shanicattis we will be back. 🩷

If you went to the carnival and didn’t come here for a drink and a burger, you missed a trick. Centrally located for the carnival, the food was great and reasonably priced. So much better than other food offers. Lovely people and great service

Visited this cafe whilst on a short trip to the area. Would say it's a bit of a hidden gem near the boatyard. Our breakfast order was served quickly, and our hearty meal proved to be very tasty. Staff were polite and friendly. Good experience and happy to recommend.

For the first time ever, we went out for Christmas lunch. Well, what a mistake. Two of our party were over 80+. By the time we left our 80+ year olds were falling asleep at the table, having had to ask staff to clear our plates away and bring our dessert. On the plus side, the atmosphere was good and festive. Staff brought us the wrong dishes and wouldn't listen when we tried to explain. There was a difficult party of three, and it was obvious the staff had no idea how to handle them and they held everyone up. It was a shame as some of the staff tried really hard, but the young chap in the T-shirt really didn't care and it was obvious he didn't want to be there. I had some hygiene concerns too about the prepared dishes being passed round the tables with everyone breathing on them before they arrived at the right place. I've been brought up on good quality meat, I don't know where the beef was from, but it was so stringy and fatty that I could not eat it. I've waited a few days to calm down but I really would like a partial refund after such a dreadful experience.
