The best restaurants serving Other european-cuisines food in England

We travelled from East Croydon to Lewes by train and the restaurant is about a three minute walk away. Absolutely worth the journey to this small restaurant, with an excellent choice of food and drinks. We found our waitress to be most helpful; being on the right side of attentive and leaving us alone to chat. We all thought she did an excellent job with her helpful suggestions and service. The food is prepared the other side of the counter by two helpful chefs, in lovely surroundings. The local rolls and flavoured buttered were an excellent way to start the meal with a glass of Sussex fizz. It was hard to choose from the choice of starters and main courses. Can recommend the poached egg on brioche followed by the sea bass. We were all too full to consider desserts, but the coffee and petit fours were lovely.

Myself and three friends had a wonderful afternoon tea at Foxhills. We would definitely book again and recommend to others everything was perfect .

New to the area and went to see what the pub was like and a game of pool with the son. It's nice to see old pubs like this still but was empty , under 12s can't use pool table and parking is a little tight.

We had a lovely dinner here. Independently run by warm and friendly couple. The food was superb including delicious pasta, authentic Sardinian local dishes, and yummy wine. We will definitely come back.

So glad there was no tables at Moose coffee as this place was better in every aspect. Will definitely be back here again. The mushroom toast was amazing.

Was in west London looking for somewhere to eat and this place popped up in the Google Map results. Nice place, atmosphere is pleasant and the service is polite. Had the Portuguese Steak, which was one of the best cooked steaks that I've had in a while. I'd definitely come back here again.

The menu is very limited. Food was Ok

They are keep on cancelling my order on Just Eat with always some random excuse. If you are busy why even bother to be online on JE? I wasted so much time only to later calling the restaurant to find out they wont be accepti g the order. If you are reading this and planing to order through Just Eats. Dont waste your time, they wont accept your order and it takes just eat over 30 mins befre you get a notification that your orders been cancelled. Never had this issues 3 or 4 years ago and I am assumi g it must be a new management now who simply dont care.

Had the best afternoon tea I’ve ever had !!

We got married here first during Covid on 2021 and again for the celebration in 2023. The venue was good, particularly with their flexibility during Covid. Unfortunately the experience was let down by their caterers. We ordered 5 Gluten Free meals which were communicated and acknowledged but on the day were not stocked for it! This proved a bit stressful on the day as these guests were severely celiac. The chef did what he could but was not great. We opted to go for the evening buffet bbq for everyone, which was only just satisfactory. The meats were clearly re-heated and quite frankly the product was not of great quality at all. The chicken looked anemic and I would hedge my bet that it was microwaved. Overall a really poor show from the catering side of things, and I hope the venue takes on this feedback as the food and service was terrible - although I don’t think they will as it’s an immediate family member who is a director of the catering company! Edit: To the venue’s response, I would like to add that it wouldn’t have got to court if they had acted in a professional manner. Unfortunately Exquisite catering ignored my complaint, so the cost of £60, to use a morning of their time to listen to my complaint in court was well worth it.

Another lovely meal at a great local restaurant

Delicious parsnip soup with sourdough for lunch accompanied by the best banana smoothie I have ever had! This is our all time coffee shop / tea room.

A group of 13 women had a Pensioner’s Lunch here which was two courses for £14.95. There was a large choice of dishes, the food didn’t take long to come out and the young waiters were very obliging. We were in a lovely room with Wedgwood Blue walls. Incidentally, the chips were some of the best I have ever tasted!

Dog friendly,relaxed and friendly place. Staff are helpful. Yet to eat here but the menu looks good. Nice italian beer on draft and good coffee! Thank you we will be back ☺️
