Located next to Kensington Gardens, a very good option to enjoy a delicious dessert, the place is very cozy and very beautiful to feel like you were in another era, the service is very good from the staff. Only the coffee was not that good and the 20% tip to take into account.

I almost never leave reviews, but after a truly delicious brunch at Antipodea, I felt I simply had to share. The food was genuinely excellent—seriously, hats off to the kitchen. But then the bill arrived, and my jaw nearly hit the table. For context: we had one meal each—essentially avocado on toast, salmon and eggs on toast, and our daughter had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon. We added a side of mushrooms and a side of tomatoes (yes, those brunch staples that are usually included but here come at an extra cost). We also had a juice each—no coffee, no tea, nothing fancy. And no alcohol. The total? £84. EIGHTY-FOUR POUNDS. Yes it was the nicest brunch I’ve had in a while (thank god otherwise I’d be seriously miffed), but due to the exorbitant prices this would be a once a year treat for us as opposed to an every other Sunday gig, which is such a shame as I’m local and would love to go more but these insanely high prices and then the additional 15% service charge make that extremely unappealing/impossible.

I recently completed a two-month stint at this restaurant. Unfortunately, during my time there, I encountered issues with late payment, with delays extending over a week in the first month and two weeks into the second. My attempts to contact them have been met with silence. However, I must commend the dedicated staff who consistently delivered excellent food despite limited resources. While the restaurant upholds public health and quality products as core values, my experience behind the scenes revealed inconsistencies in meeting these standards.

Had a lovely meal, warm welcome, and good decor. But we did feel sorry for the two staff that were rushed off their feet covering the restaurant and bar. They remained polite and professional, but they really needed another member of staff to serve such a big area with residents and non residents. Well done for such good service, and I hope you can expand the team to make the experience even more enjoyable. Would definitely be a 5 star review then.

Second time dining here in 6 weeks and both times have been faultless. Warming decor, cosy country ambience, delicious menu, helpful/friendly staff, excellent quality of food and a real hidden gem. The team and owners at The Brownlow Arms should be proud of themselves. Can’t wait to visit again very soon!

The food was nice enough, although not hot. If you have any food allergies or intolerances just be careful about their misleading information. A "Veganuary" menu that contains dairy is not vegan! Thankfully I asked before ordering. My husband ordered a second glass of wine to eat with his meal. It did not arrive until we were leaving the restaurant. The restaurant had three sets of diners at the time, two couples and one couple with a small child. Breakfast in the morning was plentiful with lots of offerings, but even food items only just placed for people to select from were luke warm and not hot.

Food was spot on and delicious. Then a dog arrived and was immediately petted by at least three members of staff. No hand sanitation or washing . Glasses of water and food served . A big no no . Such a shame after the good standard of food but we will not be returning. J
