Visited the acorn for Sunday dinner , been there quite a few times and once again not disappointed we had food from the festive menu the turkey dinner was very good , great value for money we all enjoyed the meal and we will be back there again soon

Terrible - food came out cold - yet overdone - sloppily presented, had to ask for it to be redone - was brought out again clearly just re heated. Chef obviously didn’t care or was not qualified- waitress was good so tipped her but the general management and organisation was bad . Ended up eating out food at separate times due to the timing of them having to be re heated etc . Chaotic atmosphere, lots of unsatisfied customers , food was just poor .

They made an entire family order before contacting to say they had items out of stock. To solidify their bad management and customer service practices, they also said they cannot refund me the items and that I should complain through their online customer services. I have tried this and there is no way to trace a complaint with them after filling in the online form. It's been 3 weeks and no response. So there's no way to prove you have even tried to contact customer services I.e. a confirmation email and the store themselves are unwilling to help. You expect the highest level of service when you choose these parlours but actually experience the worst. The workers here are all struggling to speak English too and are not helpful whatsoever. Try calling them and you get greeted with zero enthusiasm followed by miscommunication and lack of confidence in their ability. I'm going to try and get a refund somehow but it's not looking good if the restaurant is unwilling to help and their customer service contact is untraceable. As far as visiting papa johns goes I will not be suggesting it again.

Amazing service. Thank you so much to Cannan and your Team today who saved our office Christmas Lunch. Following a power cut at our originall venue, you were able to accommodate 27 hungry staff with just 30 minutes notice. We are so grateful you could accommodate us and your whole team did an amazing job with the level of service and fantastic food we received today. Thank you so much!! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Dinner was OK but my partner 's organic chicken came only with potatoes and no greens. My baked salmon was very good and came with potatoes, green beans and samphire which I really enjoyed. Onto dessert....??? What a disappointment! ..... having ordered the chocolate brownies at £9.50!!! each!! we looked forward to a magical, hot gooey brownie, oozing sumptuous chocolate flavours. What we got was a lump of luke warm, very dry, flavourless cake with no chocolate or oozing in sight. Very disappointing!

Poor service, extreme wait times for mediocre food. Waited 55 minutes for my starter that came out at the same time as my lukewarm main. Then waited 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared and asked multiple times whether we had ordered dessert, which we had. Waited a total of 30 minutes for a brownie that was lukewarm and cold in places. Other tables had the same issues and were told they were short on staff. We were not checked on throughout dinner and the service was poor. Finally the toilets were unsanitary and unusable with toilet paper all over the floor. I would have been more understanding if I was aware of the severe wait times prior to being sat at a table, but this was not the case. I used to enjoy this restaurant and now I don’t think I will ever return.

Bad food, terrible service We were looking with my friends a place to eat, but as it was a boxing day 26th of December, everything was packed in Central so we didn't had any other choice rather than eating there, as we were in a rushed. The items on the menu were very overpriced. I choose the pizza margarita that costs £15 and when I said to the waiter that I would like extra mushrooms, he said that they can't do that and that I need to order the fungi pizza that costs £19 , that was exactly the same as margarita just with extra mushrooms that they charged £4 more. He wasn't polite at all with us. We ordered a coke, and when I asked tap water, he said in a very rude way that they don't do it, so he forced us to order still water that they charged £5. We all felt discriminated by the way he was talking to us. The pizza wasn't fresh at all, tasted like frozen one. My friends had pasta fettuccine that had literally only 2 pieces of chicken and chicken breast served with frozen fast food potatoes that cost more than £20 each dish. We were sitting outside, and my friend asked for an ashtray, and the waiter ignored him, making a very bad face reaction. Before we asked for the bill, I kindly said to the waiter to remove the service charge as the experience wasn't as we were expecting. Then he said that it's obligatory and not optional and he couldn't remove it. He was literally shouting in front of the customers, and apparently, he was the manager there. Seems he has no experience in hospitality and customer service. We have been forced to pay 25% of Service Charge when the average in the UK is 10-12.5% !!!! The bill was £102 for a small frozen pizza, overcooked pasta with 2 small cubes of chicken, and a small chicken breast. I don't recommend this place. Food is terrible and the staff seems like they hate what they are doing.
