The best restaurants serving Seafood food in England

Lovely food Shame about the girl on the till taking the order! Quite rude/abrupt and a simple request to have the food in chip boxes instead of chip bags was all too much even though I offered to pay the surcharge.

The entire experience was fabulous! We were right in the middle of town. We had a lovely room, our daily breakfasts were wonderful and we made some forever memories.

My friend and I stayed over for 1 night on Friday 25th October,we stayed in a twin room !!! I can not fault the staff ! This review isn’t about the staff who were absolutely brilliant ,and professional! Can’t fault the beds they were comfy and clean bedding ! The thing that is wrong with this place is it’s tired and it needs an absolute overhaul ,the bathroom,has mould around the bath a leaking shower head ! the bathroom door was stiff and made a dreadful noise when opening and closing it ! The net curtain looked like they had been in a tumble drier and were so crumpled !!!!!The actual curtains were not hung correctly,crumbling paint on the windows ,dreadful condensation !!!! We always sleep with the window open ! The cleaning regime is very lacking !!! The television was absolutely filthy,dust everywhere,not pleasant at all ! Never again !

Visited for lunch on a Friday afternoon. Friendly staff and a great selection of gluten free options. 1 portion of cod and chips perfect size for 2 adults for lunch.

Our order was completely wrong when we got home, we live approximately 12 miles away so we're unable to return the food, we ordered fish and chips, chicken and chips and a curry sauce, but ended up with fish and chips, 2 portions of chicken nuggets and 2 further portions of chips and a curry sauce, the food was all very bland, and the curry sauce tasted like water, no hint of curry, went straight in the bin, whilst in the shop it was very chaotic, and people were already complaining about wrong orders! This isn't the first time we've had the wrong food either, thought we would give them another chance, but we won't be returning. Orders should be checked in shop before giving out to customers.

Hotel très confortable, personnel hautement professionnel. Excellent buffet petit-déjeuner. Situation géographique parfaite.

One of the best experiences of eating out we’ve had ever! The food was perfection. I had the king prawn linguine- full of flavour and I could have eaten the whole dish again despite being happily full. My husband had the steak frites! Which he also said was one of the best meals he’s ever had out! We are regular foodies and have been to the most exquisite fine dining, Michelins star restaurants nationally and globally and dick and Wills was a new gem we have discovered. It will be hard to eat anywhere else when frequenting salcombe after finding dick and wills! Oh and the cocktails… outstanding! I have finally found my drink… l highly recommend the lychee martini if u like sweet cocktails. Go enjoy dick and wills - you’re welcome! 😊

Best fish and chips I've had in ages

Very good fish and chips, always busy which is a good sign. Gluten free mondays which is absolutley amazing offer. Service normally quick. Good portion sizes.

We enjoyed a fabulous lunch sitting by the window with a gorgeous view towards the pier where afterwards we were headed to watch the end of pier Xmas show . This was our third visit to Upstairs at No I and as on our previous visits it did not disappoint. Oysters and Tempura prawns followed by fish and chips and halibut in a to die for white wine sauce with baby leeks and samphire - we were in heaven. The food was really well cooked and the service perfect. We will be back !

Came in recently for a few drinks. Not been in since it changed hands. Really nice atmosphere, lovely and friendly, the guy running the place was rushed off his feet but he still took the time to have a chat with everyone. Wish we’d had the chance to eat here, we’ll definitely give it a try next time.

What happened to this place? Lived in here 2021 to 2023, food used to be home cooked and beautiful. high prices but you got what you paid for. went today and was gobsmacked horrendous basic chips , bland dinner, same prices! they've ruined a great place and took away everything it was known for trying to keep sakes same but provide food 33% of what it was b4! I won't be returning. even my children were shocked and children don't generally notice these things, it truly is the bigggggest shame I am gutted

Food was good, staff were friendly and food was brought out within minutes of us ordering. At £28 for both of us the price wasn’t bad either. But the only problem was we did not realise that dogs were allowed into the restaurant part. At one point there were 5 big long haired dogs near us. The dogs were wet so they smelt quite bad. We ate up has fast as we could and left. We would not go back into the restaurant part again. But next time we will just get takeaway,

This place never fails to impress, friendly staff and the food is outstanding. A real treat eating at The Cracking Crab and I have been a regular for the past 4 years. Look forward to my next trip next yhear.
