Ordered food with a time food was 40 mins late , lots of shouting in the kitchen seriously if you are busy then tell people the truth time wise or don’t take the order !!!!

Food was awful and they keep the food in a outside garage I've seen with my own eye the food ie onions potatoes are kept in sacks on the floor of a car garage .... I. Sure there must be 🐀 rays and mice all over it ... not for me thank ypu

Not great, the meat on the ribs was really dry and chewy, beef in black bean sauce tasted watery, sweet and sour sauce tasted weird ...cucumber cooked in one of the dishes yuk.

Ordered kung po chicken Cantonese chicken egg fried rice . Egg fried rice came in a bag 🧐🧐. No oomph to the kung po or Cantonese, but loads mushrooms which I hate and olives , make me ill. Didn’t know they were in there. Also who puts tomatoes and cucumber in their dishes that’s not salad . Will not partake again :

If I could give this lower than the one star I would i got home after spending 60quid here and things was missing and the wrong items in the bag then I have to rush back and swap the items over only to get back home to cold food. and when I was in the shop Questioning Returning the items I was told we never ordered them to say I'm not happy is understatement dont waste your money

Visited on a Saturday evening. Back kitchen very busy with phone orders. Placed an order. Plenty of folks coming in for pick up of orders. Didn't have to wait long and our food was ready. Got home. Exactly what we ordered. Really tasty and good portion size. Will be going again!

Nice food wood quality Chinese standard takeaway not greasy or overly salty. Nice fresh vegetables. Service efficient not exactly super friendly but it was Friday evening so you can understand. Cash only which is a bit of a pain nowadays

1st time here, by reccommendation. Outstanding.food, outstanding service. The last top notch chinese takeaway was around 15 years ago from springbank in cheltenham. They sadly retired. I have been struggling since to find a takeaway with real flair. We don't eat out often but put off by other offerings, fed up with gloopy, salty rubbish. Every dish was made with care. Outstanding value for money. Obviously not a la carte fine dining at this price but all the meat and seafood seemed fresh and cooked to perfection. Each dish cooked with a distinctive flavour that does not dissapoint. I read a couple of bad reviews, ignore unless you are the type of person that thinks McDonald's are the last word in burgers!

Consistently excellent food for the past 15 years! The unchanged recipes make this place a reliable go-to for Chinese. I'm grateful it's still open. It's my only choice for Chinese, and I hope it remains that way.

Absolutely the worst Chinese I have ever eaten. Never really review but it was that bad I had to write one. For a start, the rice came in a plastic bag (no box). The crispy beef was just mushy batter. The duck was just fatty with no crisp to it. Chicken curry was the worst, each bit of chicken was black/brown inside (which I have never seen before). Best thing on the plate was the chicken balls but still questionable and the sweet and sour sauce had a strange aftertaste to it.

My family have been using Chinese Kitchen for over 30 years and although it has "passed ownership" over the years, they still produce quality food. You can see through to the kitchen where the food is prepared - which I think says a lot!! Subsequently have had a bad experience on Tuesday 26/09/2023. Part of my Order included Curried Roast Pork and Chips. Afraid to say the Chips were only half cooked and the Pork pieces were both fatty and tough. I hope this was a one off??

Absolutely brilliant been coming here for 10+ years best Chinese in hucclecote and surrounding area staff are absolutely lovely and you always get great food, it's cash only so make sure you have some and prices are cheap for the quality and portion sizes you get would recommend this place to everyone and anyone

Great good and very fast service despite it being a Saturday night

There is some decent noodles here and sauces and quicker than average service for hot food and easy parking ... It a quick in and out also decent price .... Minor godsend.... I make my own these days in my Ken Hom Wok. Sometimes I get extra business and extra long hours and tired but I still go here when needing something on way back home sometimes via work and post office. .

Briiliant takeaway, their sweet n sour sauce is the best in Gloucester - not that strange stuff you get elsewhere! Never been disappointed by them!

Wow. What an amazing Chinese. I tried this place by accident a few months back. I was on my way home to Cheltenham and it was getting late, so as I went past I decided to pop in not really expecting much. I’m very glad I did, because I now firmly believe this is one of the best Chinese's in Gloucestershire. So much so, whenever we have Chinese, rather than order from somewhere in Cheltenham, I drive across to this one. It’s really worth the drive. The wontons are a particular favourite from here. Loads of filling inside them compared to every other Chinese in Cheltenham where it is all pastry with a tiny, tiny bit of filling.

Takeaway, given incorrect meal had to return it, they were aware what they supplied. Chicken curry, this was supplied with chicken pieces placed in the bottom of the tray with sauce poured over the top.when we upturned the contents the chicken was not even cooked with the curry. I rang to complain and was told we were busy ! Having been a regular loyal customer this is the last time I buy from this place. As you can guess, I did not eat it and just binned it.

Where to even start! The bar must be very low in Gloucester for good this bad to have so many stars. I have tried different food from here over the last 4 years I've been in glos and the only consistent thing is 1, how bad the food is and 2, basically a guaranteed bad stomach, which I do not easily get. 2 out of 3 times I've also had good poisoning! In my 20 years of eating Chinese food all over the country and abroad, I can say that this place has given me a first.. Dry, rubbery ribs with the wateriest and runniest sauce ever! Crispy chilli beef is neither crispy, nor chilli, but at least its beef, I think. Omelette was bland and boring, even the egg fried rice had been ruined and that's hard to do! Ironically the only good, tasty part was the obligatory chips. But aside from atrocious the food was well overpriced. Would never use again. P.S enter the 21st century and get yourselves a card machine!

Many years ago my family would always come here and the food was great. What I ordered today was not. My Singapore chow mien was dry and tasteless. It looks like the noodles were just dumped on top. They have no flavour. The meat again had no added flavour. It feels like whoever cooked it just couldn’t be bothered. Sad times

My first visit and I wasn't disappointed. The chicken curry was first class and I shall be going back very soon to try other dishes. Very clean, good service and quick.

Haven't been here for many year's as my partner and I had very dodgy tummies after a meal from here. This time was ok and no dodgy tummies! Wasn't too keen on the bbq sauce myself but the rest of our meal was very nice.

Very disappointing food. Lacking flavour, the chicken balls obviously cooked twice, the sweet and sour sauce was neither sweet nor sour! I found about 3 black beans in the vegetable and black bean sauce which was without flavour! We are visiting the area and are used to much better Chinese food than this. And they forgot to add the spring rolls we asked for! (But maybe that was a blessing)

My favourite takeaway. The staff are pleasant - not overly effusive, but the food is great. We order a variety of dishes, we usually fancy something different, We've never had a bad meal. Our favourites are chicken & mushrooms, pancake rolls, sweet and sour and curry.

My regular cantonese was closed, so I went to this place...first time in years. What a mistake. The worst crispy duck ever. More scrag ends and fat than meat. Perhaps 20% meat at best. Such a poor effort. The sweet and sour chicken was also very poor. This has to be the worst chinese takewasy Ive ever been to. What a rip off.

Lovely little takeaway. Really nice food, very tasty, always fresh and reasonably priced. You can pre-order over the phone and collect at a time to suit.

First time eating the food from here. The prawn toast was absolutely amazing. Thick crispy and cooked beautifully. I don't normally eat prawn toast but wow theirs was fantastic. The battered chicken balls lovely. The noodles where meant to me spicy hot. But not a massive amount of heat from them but still very nice. The shredded duck pan cakes tastes gorgeous. I look forward to tasting more of their sublime dishes.

Authentic Chinese taste, very friendly and quick service. The layout is very clean and tidy with an open kitchen.

Great Chinese, staff are very friendly. Food is always delicious and warm. A fantastic local Chinese.

The lady on the phone got our order wrong. We then ordered lemon chicken which was just squashed chicken ball cut in half, with a sour pot of lemon sauce on the side. Quite expensive and not what I was expecting such a shame ! We have moved over to the garlic Indian takeaway which is 10 steps away. It is cheaper and 10 times nicer. So disappointed!

Have often struggled to find a Chinese that produced food that all our family enjoyed, but not here! From the curry to chow mein we love it all, and a good price too! No home delivery and cash only, but worth the travel.

Tried it for the first time after seeing good reviews. Got a bit of a shock when I saw the menu as it is presented very differently to most other Chinese takeaways, so I had to spend sometime reading it before I could order. No grumbles with the food it was very tasty. I would have liked to take a menu home so that I could spend time studying it before another visit, but they did not have any.

Yes! Proper old school Chinese, exactly as you remember from your childhood... There's a good reason this place has been going forever, you get exactly what you're expecting, piping hot, plenty of veggies, subtle tasty sauces, excellent food!

Reasonable prices. Consistent quality. We've used this takeaway for many years with never a complaint. The menu choice is pretty varied and the portions generous. The service is fairly quick even at busy times. The food is always hot. Recommendations: the special fried rice is a complete meal in itself and the pancake rolls are always nice and crispy. Parking is easy.

Best Chinese I have had in a long time

This my favourite Chinese takeaway... I've tried loads in Gloucester, including the ones locally and have always found that the quality of food and portion size at the Chinese Kitchen are superior. The only downside is when they close for a couple of weeks after Chinese New year, you're left with the choice of no Chinese food for 2 weeks, or a meal that isn't going to be as nice as your used to!

Hi been using this takeaway for many years since the older staff is not around the younger staff is not in uniform all in casual clothes including trainers and the food is not the same test rushed it used to be very good quality I always like this take away but will have to find another has no taste off the food and There is no stars for the food hygiene

This is my favourite Chinese. Food is 100% spot on everytime and the staff are always polite and engage in conversation. Excellent atmosphere and parking is great.

Disappointed this evening food quite dry, normally chicken chow mein has some cooking juices with it but tonight it was quite dry probably overcooked. When you spend over £20 you expect better.

Chinese food becomes the same where ever you go after 30 years of takeaways.

The food here is always delicious. I love how thick their noodles are and how fast they can cook everything. Only take away food here but you can call up to order before collecting (usually say collect in 15 mins). Food is not that expensive, can easily serve a family of 5 for £30 with a selection of 6 different meals to share. It is the only Chinese i will eat from in Gloucester and they have a 5* food hygiene rating on the door as you walk in. The only bad thing about this place is that it closes for Chinese New year and I have to go elsewhere 😭!

I used to use this takeaway regularly until a few weeks ago. I spotted somebody in the kitchen knock a box of chicken balls on the floor. Another quickly stepped in front of the kitchen door way, while the other person picked them up and put them back on the shelf. Had they put them straight in the bin I would still go there. They've lost my custom for life now.

Had a decent takeaway dinner from here for a family of 4. Crispy chilli beef, Singapore vermicelli l, chicken fried rice and chow mein. Lovely chips too!

One star is too good for this place. Food was greasy and luke warm at best, rice came in a bag. I wouldn't feed what I couldn't eat to my dog. Enough said

We have had a number of take aways from Chinese Kitchen. Food is well cooked, good variety and speedy service. Great for large parties as you can try the many dishes available.

This is now our regular Chinese. They do good sauces and it tastes more oriental than westernised (if you see what I mean). The King Prawn omelettes are awesome.
