Divan in Barnet

Tasteless food. I ordered vegetarian kebab which was way smaller than before and completely bland. Handful of vegetables + handful of rice + salad scattered on the plate( to visually make it look fuller).Embarrassing. Chilli sauce ( left from the starter) and table salt made the food edible. It’s beyond me how can you serve the food without any seasoning!

I often passed by this restaurant and couldn’t help but notice the enticing barbecue aroma wafting from it. That inviting scent finally convinced me to step in and order a lamb shish to-go. I was positively surprised by the impressive display of fresh meat and chicken. Everything looked so perfectly prepared and appealing that I wanted to try it all! Once back home, I was delighted by the generous portion size, especially for such a reasonable price. The lamb shish was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled. For dessert, I had a piece of baklava, which was rich, sweet, and the perfect end to the meal. I’ll definitely be reordering from here, and I’m looking forward to trying more of their offerings. With food this fresh and appealing, it’s hard to resist!

The food I ate in Divan yesterday evening gave me stomach ache and diarrhoea.I couldn’t sleep all night and still couldn’t eat anything today. Instead of deleting my review I would appreciate if Divan actually pay attention on their cooking and hygiene standards!

The last 4 times I have ordered chips and they have come very dry over cooked and not fresh.

One of the best kebab shops in London. It is the only place I know that serves its donners in a Turkish bread/pitta. I live in Euston but always visit this place when I see my family in East Finchley. The guy who I normally see serving behind the counter is always very friendly and delivers a professional service!

Ordered the chicken donner last night, massive portion enough for 2 but it was the driest chicken i’ve ever had with no flavour wasn’t even greasy

Generous portions, very fresh and tasty

I ordered takeaway from Divan Turkish cuisine and unfortunately, my experience was far from pleasant. I ordered mixed Donner and mix wrap.The food lacked any real flavor. He said you have to pay separate for salad which is completely different with other Turkish restaurants 😏It was clear that freshness wasn’t a priority, as the meal had an off-putting smell that suggested it wasn’t prepared with the best ingredients. The quality of the food fell short of expectations, with none of the vibrant, rich flavors you’d typically expect from Turkish cuisine. Overall, it was a disappointing visit, and I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone looking for an enjoyable meal.

The Kebab was as hard as bone. No one in the restaurant and even though we did not say anything at the time but paying 45£ for 2 people but to get a meal of this quality it did not make sense. I visited this place in March and it was good. The question is : For the visit of 10th Sept , did they serve left overs?

My family orders a platter every week and the amount and quality have decreased over the months. We spoke to the manager who just argued and didn't want to hear any feedback so we won't be ordering again.

Good Choice and Price for Quality

Usually I collect my order but decided to use UberEats for delivery as I have done in the past, Their portion size has shrunk to half the size they should be ashamed of themselves charging £35 for a mixed kebab so small. Never again

IGNORE NEVER EVER EVEN TRY. I HAVE ORDERED CHICKEN WINGS THEY’VE JUST SEND ME THE BONE…!!!! I have gone there, the guy name is Ali, he is still trying to arguing with me and he state that you been eating the wings. Ridiculous.

I've been coming here for years. The chap that runs it is very friendly. You can order ahead for collection. The food quality is outstanding; I've had many dishes from here, but for the me the mixed doner is always the stand out. You can't go wrong with burger and chips either. I shall continue to come here, and i'd highly recommend this place.

Absolutely awful. For 2 wrap and Pepsi got charged £29.00 I mean really. I wish I’d enjoyed the food however the food was tasteless doner kebab was chewy and crispy rather tender and soft. A very disappointing experience.

I have been coming here for 20+ years. On the last few visits the food quality hasn't been the same. The visit before this one the salad was brown and rotten and we had to ask for it to be replaced. Tonight the garlic sauce was congealed, my partner asked for dish with with lamb doner instead of kofte, the waitress said she would speak to the chef and let us know if it was possible. She didn't come back so we assumed it was OK. When the food came it wasn't what he had ordered, I think they has done an aubergine kebab with doner , he mentioned it to the chef and he apologised that it wasn't quite what we expected and said he would make it up to us next time. We were fine with that, these things happen. However the attitude of the waitress tonight is what will stop us from ever coming back - after we had paid our bill she came over to us and was incredibly rude and talking to us like we were idiots and debating with my partner what he had ordered. What a shame... it used to be a great place but we won't be going back.

Today, the lentil soup at this restaurant was horrendous! It tasted like flavored water, completely lacking any substance. I strongly advise against trying it, as it was a disappointing experience.

Very pleasant experience. Before the main dish arrived the table received a very tasty taziki plate with very nice Turkish bread. The iskender was a very large and generous portion, and also delicious. The baba ganush was excellent. Doner was a huge plate with nice salad and rice portions, and lovely side mint yoghurt sauce. There was another sauce that can make a burning hole if it dripped on a plastic sheet by mistake. Excellent and friendly service. Decor is lovely. Bill arrived with 10% off (apparently because we came at lunchtime). Really recommended !

We have mixed experiences with the food, the aubergine was completely undercooked, not edible. The chicken wings too, but just a little, still edible. The chicken doner was nice, the chips delicious, the rice too. A little piece of lemon would make the salads nicer. The sauces and pitta breads were also delicious though. A little attention would improve the quality.

Love the doner kebabs here. I'd suggest ignoring some of the recent negative reviews: I have always found the service here excellent. The staff are very welcoming. The food is great and very good value. I do have a lot of time for a competitor just down the road but I think that Divan is my personal favourite.

Another great turkish spot in finchley! There is a lot of competition for fine turkish cuisine in the N3 area but Divan certainly can compete with its neighbours. Excellent quality meat, warm atmosphere, attentive staff. Overall an excellent experience.

The grill over cooked and dry. No moisture. Lamb kebabs hard all you can taste is mixed herbs. Chicken kebabs salty and very dry. Service absolutely not professional. Not going there anymore. 2 out of 10

First time coming to this restaurant and I really enjoyed the meal. The chicken beyti was cooked perfectly and the price was reasonable. The chilli and garlic sauces were very tasty. They also served a free small plate of tzatziki which was delicious. Service was very good. Not intrusive in any way. A shame the place wasn’t too busy. Overall I highly recommend and will be returning.

We tried the chicken shish and adana kebab, both very flavoursome and juicy. Dishes were reasonably priced, got a decent portion with rice and salad for £14 pp. Also received complementary bread with dips while we waited for our food. The staff is so warm. The service was almost like we were being welcomed into someone’s home. Lovely dining experience overall.

Ordered on uber. Put in the order notes and the special request no rice as i don't like rice. Kebab came with three quarters of the container filled with rice and a tiny bit of meat on top. Complete waste of nearly 15 quid. What's the point t of having a special request section if they just ignore it. Won't order again

This food must have sat in the restaurant for a lengthy period of time! It arrived cold. The fries were soggy and limp. I know this is not the fault of the restaurant. If you are going to accept orders with delivery you need to make sure you have drivers available. Not only did we have to wait an excessive amount of time you ended up delivering poor quality food

Super friendly. Made a great falafel wrap 5 mins before closing while cleaning. Didn't expect to get served but they did it gladly! Will be back.

Tasteless lamb. Used to be amazing between 2008-2019. Since then, it has gone down hill.... Flavour wise.... But for higher prices.

Ordered the lamb Shish. Absolutely awful. The rice came in clumps and was so overcooked and swollen. Even the salad was limp and dead. No effort at all. Very disappointing and would not recommend.

I requested chips instead of rice. If they couldn’t do it this is fine however they should have let me know. Also the doner was burnt and over cooked. Disappointing.

Have been going to this restaurant for several and I always have the kebabs wrapped in flatbread. They are so friendly in there and never disappoint! No wonder they have won awards their food!

The Just Eat map keeps sending drivers to the wrong road. It needs tweaking. It would be good if we could specify that we don't want certain ingredients in the salad (namely onion and chillies) but I suppose that is not a Just Eat issue

Delightful , authentic turkish food in the heart of Finchley.We lived in NW London for 12 years until 12 years ago, and used to eat in this place regularly. We're visiting London for the first time since then, and obviously, we had a lunch there , and we all felt that the quality hasn't changed one bit during that period of time.Our favorites- the chicken doner and the chicken beyti with all the fresh vegetables ,are worth mentioning, to name just a few of the dishes on their menu.The service is very courteous and the prices are fare.Surely we'll be back!!

Lovely food but keeps getting my orders wrong every so often so I have to drive back to collect things

Instead of receiving our full order, there was one container full of a oil/grease liquid instead of a Coban salad, usually we get good service from divan so we are surprised that this has happened.

I love my doner here but I must say that the first time I ate there my kebab was delicious and very fresh. Literally one week later, you could feel the meat wasn't as good. The salad in the kebab was going bad, especially the lettuce. The lettuce was brown on the edges, and that indicates that it was few days old. Quite disspoined.

Absolutely delightful experience, delicious food, amazing service, and the entire atmosphere was lovely. Can't wait to go again, and will most certainly be recommending to everyone!!
