Himalaya Tandoori in Croydon

We ordered a takeaway. Their food is excellent. Portion of food is also quite generous. We ordered Veg biriyani, Lamb biriyani ,Paneer tikka, Chicken tikka,Tadka dal ,Biriyani does come with a veg curry. Every item was very tasty. They also gave us enough salads and free papadoms.

Never ever had a bad meal from Himalaya in the five years we’ve been ordering from here! The food and service is always five star!

One of the best Indian takeaways we've had in a while and we've pretty much tried every place around Coulsdon area. Curry was delicious and arrived hot - I really dislike cold food. Portions were generous, full of flavour and we couldn't fault anything. Cheese naan was excellent and free poppadoms a nice touch. Highly recommend.

Every dish ordered was so fresh and tasty, never greasy. Delivered well within anticipated time and hot. Really good portion sizes, great value and excellent quality. Always!

I don’t say this lightly, but greatest Indian cuisine I’ve had, possibly ever. Such intense flavours, great price, volume of food was more than expected. Had a few lil freebies, much appreciated! Was given a reasonable eta for the food, and came 15 minutes earlier than expected! Amazing service for a busy Saturday night. Consider me a loyal customer.

We were not eating Indian food often before. We wanted a change and try a random delivery near home... and it has now become one of our favourite place to get from from ! The food is very tasty, with a lot of choice and we always had a good experience with delivery (food was hot, delivery on time and staff very nice). The naans as so delicious as well I could just made a meal from them only ! As said by others, portions are reall good size as well. Thanks to them to give me new looks on Indian cuisine.

We've used the Himalaya on a number of occasions now. The delivery has always been on time. The food is always superb, hot, good value and the delivery guys are really helpful and pleasant. Great food! Great service!

My favourite local curry house. Great customer service, very helpful with lots of info when it comes to allergies. Incredible curries - we love the lamb karahi. Delivery is always incredibly fast, never leave us waiting. They absolutely deserve this 5 star review.

It is takeaway/delivery only, no dine in. But the service if you go for collection is very good and does not take long. The food is good, but to be honest not the best best in the area. Still, good though.

They give generous portions and you pay for the quality and to get quality food I would not mind waiting a little longer especially when they are in high demand.

First time ordering - based on all the very good reviews decided to try. All the food we ordered for 2 was delicious and was so nice to have curries that did not have lots of oil in them. Would recommend!

Read the reviews sounded like I had a winner obviously I didn’t not sure how they made the pakoras but definitely not a pakora or a burnt one the mixed grill was just smothered in sauce and onions don’t think it was even put in a tandoor the curry was average best thing about the meal was the popadom a condiments

Pretty reliable tasty Indian, very reasonably priced

I pre ordered food 2hrs before the time I wanted it delivered. I called the restaurant 20mins after this time, to be told that the roads were closed and the food was leaving the restaurant 20mins later than it was supposed to be delivered. I live in the area and the main road has been closed for nearly a month now, so it should have left the restaurant earlier than usual to arrive on time! I always use this Indian because their food is amazing, but the service wasn’t great this time I ordered!

Best Indian in the area. I got chicken tikka tandoori with mushroom rice. Food is always spot on and greeted with polite front desk when collecting order. Got free popadoms too

Used to order from here all the time because for the price you pay it was 100% worth it - ordered for 2 people yesterday and it was over £50!! Just not worth it, food was nice but not worth the money at all, I get the cost of living at the minute but £11 for 1 chicken dish with no rice or extras is a joke

Tried this for the first time and it was pleasantly impressed. Tried an achari which I've never had before, with Himalayan naan which i didn't realise is the same as a peshwari naan. All very nice.

First time ordering from here and would definitely order again, food came hot as if it just came from the kitchen! All tasted very fresh and good portion sizes, we had the butter chicken, which was slightly different to other butter chickens we've had before, tasted like it was more seasoned (maybe with a tomato base) but still delicious none the less!

Hmmm....a mixed bag tonight. Ordered the tandoori mixed grill, and the meat portions were small, but a bigger issue was that I ordered the dish WITHOUT fried onions. Unfortunately, when delivered, it was absolutely covered in them - I reckon a whole onion, which (while generous) was the complete opposite of what we wanted. This has reduced my food quality score. Otherwise, the side dishes were as tasty as expected.

I ordered my food at 18:14 however by 19:30 I had still not received my food. Called the restaurant and a gentleman said that they were short in drivers and that my food would be with me in the next 5 minutes. Finally received my food at 20:05. Asked the driver why it took so long and he told me that he had picked up my food 20 minutes ago and that I unfortunately was the last drop so my food had been sat on his bike for 20 minutes. No surprise that all my food was ice cold but as we're were so hungry we just warmed it in the microwave and ate it. Not a great experience at all especially on a quiet Tuesday night. Normally this restaurant is exceptional but tonight they dropped the ball and I will be thinking twice before ordering again

Food was superb, as usual. However, very disappointing to only get 1 little pot of mint sauce (again), on an order worh £60, we spend a lot on starters, and 1 litle pot of mint sauce to split betweebn rhw rest of the order is just not good enough.

2nd we’ve ordered and I’ve found my new favourite place! The tandoori meat is stunning with so much flavour. The vindaloo had a great colour and the samosa super crispy with a great filling. Can’t rate this place enough!

Sadly the food hasn’t been up to the usual standard for the past few weeks. The chicken Ceylon ordered vindaloo hot didn’t taste like a Ceylon (no coconut) and wasn’t hot at all. Over the last few weeks the food hasn’t tasted as it usually should, as we have mentioned previously on the phone.

The food was delicious as always, I tried chicken tikka main tonight and it was really tasty! This has been our go to Indian for nearly 2 years and never lets us down!

So far, we have enjoyed every meal ordered. Very tasty, generous portions, delivery is always early or on time given. The Chef is clearly skilled and gives a depth of rich flavours to the dishes. Since tasting Himalaya's food, this is our place of choice for this delicious type of cuisine.

Always great food from here. The meat dishes are reasonably priced for the amount you receive. The bhaji's are the right amount of firmness without being burnt or greasy.
