Friendly and helpful staff Cramped space Small portions Quite expensive (KP Puree) £8.25 and small water £4.50 Prawn puree was fairly bland.

Our first time dining here. From the start, everything was excellent. Food was quick, well presented and most importantly - TASTY. Service was great; friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend the onion bahji, lamb tikka and chicken satkara. Will definitely be returning.

Had the best Indian food we had in a long time! We went for the bengal chicken curry and the lamb ghost mirshat along with the peshwari naan and rice. DELICIOUS. My favourite was the bengal chicken. The service was great, really comfy seats - will definitely be regulars here as well as take away

Wrong order turned up. Driver came to collect and then went back to restaurant to get our order. When finally arrived it was cold. The curry is also really oily and greasy. Not sure i’d order again unfortunately.

First time ordering from this Indian. lovely lamb bhuna and the chilli naan had a good kick to it.

Always love the food but today we saw a change in taste so not sure if they changed chefs chicken methi I wouldn’t order again lacked taste but I always love this place today was a off day for them

Chicken overdone and dry, onion bhaji not crispy and it's 85p for a single poppadom....

The contents - chicken/sauce/veg curry/rice - were barely warm. The chicken was tough and almost inedible. The Korma sauce was tasteless. The rice was not plain! The veg curry lacked substance, and was very bland. A very disappointing meal.

Always top dollar in here so much so we travel from South Wales to same this cuisine

Es un restaurante pequeño pero la comida y los sabores son poderosos. El servicio fue rápido y amable, la comida era rápida pero fresca. Todo estaba muy sabroso. Tenía el pollo tandoori que era jugoso y sabroso. El Peshwari Naan era esponjoso y dulce. El Mango Lassi delicioso. Mi esposo se comió TODA su comida (estaba totalmente relleno) y su queja fue que le gustó tanto que se lo comió todo y ahora no le quedan sobras para llevar a casa para el almuerzo de mañana! Lol. Me llevé una bolsa de perro a casa, pero no duró mucho, ya que los adolescentes de la casa la demolieron antes de que llegara a la nevera.

La comida era buena y abundante, aunque se podría decir que he tenido mejor, tenía un Mancurian que era bastante soso que no es lo que un Mancurian debe ser. Mi pareja tiene langostinos reales y la suegra tenía un Pasander. Estaban contentos con la comida. Precio... promedio y justo basado en el tamaño de la porción.

A fantastic Indian restaurant that’s great value for money whilst serving the best Ingredients and really tasty food. The staff are awesome and couldn’t do more to help. It’s definitely my favourite Indian restaurant in the area and couldn’t recommend it more!

the onions bhajis were reheated not fresh, samosas were not homemade samosa pastry but a type of filo, BUT all other things, like curries and naan were good.

Me and my friend stumbled upon the place, as we were just passing through the area, although we ordered the usual rice and vegetables as well as a nan bread we decided to go for meat dishes which we had never heard of so therefor never tried before and we were not disappointed in fact sll the food put before us was cooked to perfection.

By far the best restaurant in Crystal Palace! The food is incredible - head and shoulders above your average Indian Restaurant. The owner and staff are really lovely guys who deliver great service. I can't recommend this enough. Absolute must try for any one in the area.

They r always a hit, this now my no 1 Indian takeaway, EVERYTHING is soooooo fresh and full of flavor the meat is so tender no cheap meat here 👌🏾👌🏾🍖💯💯🖤🖤🖤 I always ask for extra garlic in everything and most takeaways don't always do it but these guys r the best they do it for me, any adjustments to ur food they take it in to account!!!! Really tasty and good value for money

Really wanted to like this after the reviews promised finally a good Indian local, but was left terribly disappointed with my chicken tikka. Overly sweet, no flavour whatsoever and just not nice.

The most delicious dinner for two. Excellent service and extensive menu. Can’t fault, would recommended to anyone in the area for dining in or takeaway. Palace special prawn dish 10/10

Phenomenal, as always! Our favourite Indian restaurant, hands down. And the dahl is the closest to my Nana’s I’ve ever tasted. This is probably our 100th takeaway from Palace Spice and there will be many more.

All the food was very mild with very little spice or heat. I know they cater for local tastes but if you order curry you should expect some heat and flavour.

What a delight!! When we first arrived the restaurant was empty with only one other diner. By the time we left the restaurant was full and having spoken to a couple of the other diners realised that there were quite a few regulars there! We were acknowledged and greeting warmly and a drinks order was taken. Shortly thereafter we ordered our starters and they arrived promptly and were delicious. Our mains arrived shortly after we finished our starters and again, were very tasty and full of flavour. Service was discreet but also attentive and prices were very reasonable. I would definitely recommend this place and will return again. Really lovely experience. Great staff and lovely Indian redgional food.

Where can I start with this amazing place. We have been waiting for years after the fire incident. Words cannot describe how happy we are to see Manik back up and running after such a devastating tragedy. Have been visiting palace spice since I was 10 years old and now my children are enjoying with me. 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Ordered takeaway and it was all so delicious! We had seen the hype on Crystal Palace Local Facebook group and we will not be ordering from anywhere else now. The saag paneer is my favourite. Very creamy and again delicious. Palace Spice Special Chingri was very tasty I would say it is a must try if you like a little spice and king prawns.

The best Indian restaurant I've ever been to! I'm so happy to see them open again. I usual only order takeaways from here but the moment I heard they had reopened I had to book a table for myself and my family.

Gorgeous food. Missed them when they were closed. Came back even better. Only snag need better containers especially for meat dishes as half of the sauce ends up in the carrier bag.

The staff were helpful - food was ok, but it was lukewarm, and the portions seemed very small. We had to ask for the dessert menu, then there was only one dessert available.

We ordered a takeaway from here to be delivered to the Crystal Palace Camp Site. They delivered within 30mins and its safe to say it was one of the best Indian I have ever had. I had the Bengal Chicken, but had a Madras spice level, keema rice and Chilli naan. My 10 year old had a Chicken Tikka Masala, pilau rice and garlic naan. Hands down amazing and even called them to say thank you on behalf of my son and I 👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

First up drink order wrong and then main meals come scatterd even tho we ordered together i.e byriani came with veg curry but 10 mins later. Food was ok.. also the rose is echo falls dispite what the menu reads as we asked to see the bottle. Not great

We were walking in the street and saw this restaurant so decided to give it a try. The team is extremely nice and very efficient, the service was quick and the food was absolutely delicious. 12/10, nothing to say apart from fabulous. We had papadam, tandoori lamb (gorgeous) and king prawns with daal. We will definitely come back! 😍

UPDATE four years later to say it’s still as phenomenal as ever. The best Indian restaurant in London! The best tarka dahl in London! It comes close to my Nana’s recipe, which is a huge compliment. We don’t go anywhere else for our Indian takeaway now; no where compares. Plus, the guys who work there are really lovely. My husband’s favourite is the Tikka Jalfrezi and Bengal Chicken, and I love the veggie dishes.

Hi I am leaving a HONEST review because leaving 5 stars for every establishment everywhere in London regardless if its 5 stars is misleading and tbh London needs to do better with standards of food seriously. I believe the majority of London Indian restaraunt needs to study flavours and I am constantly dissapointed at the standard of a vindaloo in London. It's generally a tomato paste with chicken and chilli. That is not a vindaloo. Vindaloo has a rich depth of flavour with cardamon and all spice and is aromatic. Don't give reviews saying the vindaloo was amazing when it is not. My brother has worked on regent Street as a chef and ran a vegetarian establishment in shoreditch and worked in the forbidden city Beijing. this is ok at best but it was oily and missing depth. I cannot understand where real standards have gone to leave these 5 star reviews. The best vindaloo I have found thus far is from gurkhas. And that isn't even 5 star but finding a real vindaloo here is like finding a needle in a haystack. Thankyou for the free oily onion bharjis. This is not 5 stars. I feel like Gordon Ramsey telling Americans to stop being delusional. Some people have clearly not eaten a good curry before to keep dishing out 5 stars in London when it's 2.5 at best. Make London great again and stop dishing out 5 stars when it's not.

The tandoori chicken was nice but the butter chicken was so sweet, butter chicken isn't meant to be sweet. It's supposed to be buttery and mildly spicy.

best indian food in south london

I don't know why every restaurant in south London serves sweet butter chicken. I ordered because of the high rating and reviews but it was not worth it at all. It is not authentic Indian food. I couldn't eat more than a bite of butter chicken and onion was cooked for tandoori chicken. Please put raw and red onions rings in ice water, then add spices and lemon. That's the only salad you need to serve with tandoori chicken. Butter chicken to hata hi do bhai menu se. I am very passionate about food and it disheartens me that I can't find good Indian food anywhere nearby. I had high hopes seeing this place was established in 1995. Very disappointed.

Always been a lovely restaurant. Love the food and atmosphere is always nice and welcoming! My partner has been here for years since he was a child and has great memories here! Very quick service and delicious food! Highly recommend as eat in or a takeaway!

Basically grew up in the Palace spice and it’s where I found my love for Indian food. After it being closed for so long you can really see the lack of good quality Indian food in the area! Food is always as good as the last meal and service is top class! Would absolutely encourage to eat in as the personal touch and customer service is second to none :) so glad to have Manik and the team back up the palace. Welcome back guys, highly recommend!

First visit since restaurant reopening after fire damage. Very welcoming and food just as good as we remembered. Palace Spice was always our first port of call for take aways and they were very much missed during the closure period. Do hope all their regulars realise they are now back in business as I believe all their customer records were destroyed in fire.
