Fabulous meal from the bread, wine, vegi, salad & fish + terrific service …highly recommend

Definitely a hidden gem, if you love Italian food & seafood. My personal fav is spaghetti alla bottarga and lobster pasta. Would also recommend trying Sardinian dishes. 👌

Beautiful Sardinian seafood restaurant that never disappoints. Staff are warm and accommodating. The food is beautifully cooked and an absolute joy for any seafood lover. Some really good Sardinian wines on offer that are worth exploring.

My wife and I recently went to dinner at the Olivomare restaurant and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The very friendly and knowledgeable staff recommended dishes with an authentic Sardinian flavor, without beating around the bush: an explosion of taste and sensations in every dish. The food was good, but the service shockingly bad. We arrived when it was relatively quiet, and were politely shown to our table and given menus. However, after numerous failed attempts to give our order, including one when a waiter acknowledged our presence but then walked away never to return, after 25 minutes, we had to be ‘gently firm’ with another waiter to take our simple order as he repeatedly said that only the manager could do it even though we saw him take orders from others. When the food arrived, we had to remind them that we were still waiting for our drinks 45 minutes after our arrival. It was only when the tables around us filled up that we spotted that everyone else was given a basket of fancy bread on the house, but not us. The manager apologised and understood our request to remove the ‘discretionary’ 15% service charge, but then added £1 because we had been undercharged, which was true but very petty under the circumstances, especially given the failure to serve us bread that was offered to everyone else. I had a very pleasant experience there before, but regretted not walking out after half an hour when they continually ignored us this time, especially as we got there well before the lunchtime rush.

Staff seemed bothered by our presence since we entered the restaurant and for the duration of our meal. I ordered “spaghetti with lobster” and I was presented with spaghetti, red sauce and empty lobster shells on my plate but no actual lobster meat in my meal, I honestly felt like they were messing with me. Plating something with the carcass of what’s supposed to be in the dish but not actually adding the meat is wilddddddd. I would not recommend and will never be back, I know Mexicans in California that would cook Italian circles around this place. It wouldn’t say the price was crazy but didn’t get what I paid for in the slightest.

This restaurant is an absolute gem. The food was superb, the wine divine and our server Letizia was amazing, recommending the best dessert and being attentive without ever being intrusive. She was so passionate about Sardinia that we may have to go there on holiday! Thank you

Olivomare Italian Restaurant left us thoroughly impressed! For starters, we had the oysters, and they were very good, fresh, and beautifully presented. The beef carpaccio was equally delightful—tender, flavorful, and well-seasoned. For the main course, we enjoyed the lobster linguine and fresh truffle pasta—the restaurant’s signature dishes. They were absolutely the stars of the evening, with rich, exquisite flavors that made each bite memorable. To finish off our meal, we had sorbet for dessert, which was the perfect refreshing end to an exceptional dining experience. The service was fantastic and welcoming from beginning to end, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Overall, Olivomare delivered fantastic food, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. I recently enjoyed a really lovely dinner here. My partner & I are gluten and dairy free, and we didn’t feel like we were at a loss of options. I enjoyed a gluten free crab linguine, and my partner had the cod (still delicious even when made as requested without dairy). We started with anchovy salad and octopus, both of which were fresh tasting (slight preference for the octopus, which was so tender) and came on a fluffy bed of rocket. We also enjoyed a very nice bottle of Sangiovese. All in all pretty great. The atmosphere felt a bit sterile, maybe something about the bright lights and white walls. Otherwise it was quiet enough to have a conversation without shouting, while still being full of diners. Highly recommend!

We love all the Olivo restaurants! All the pastas are good and we especially like the botarga dishes.

I was not impressed. We had a family dinner celebration for six people, and the restaurant struggled to manage our orders. We ordered five fish dishes and one pasta, but one fish dish arrived 15 minutes later than the rest, by which time our appetite had diminished, and we sent the food back. The food quality was mediocre at best. I wouldn't recommend this place.

When I come to London, I really want to eat Karasumi Pasta here. However, since it was a Sunday afternoon, the main store was full and I couldn't get in, so I couldn't give up, so I looked into it again and went to an affiliated store. After all, the pasta here is exquisite. I didn't know when I would be able to eat it next, so I got greedy and tried other menu items, but unless you're a big eater, the Karasumi Pasta alone is enough to fill you up. (Bread is also included) It may be a little expensive even in London, but this pasta is a must-try at least once!

I would come back in a heartbeat! We found this Italian restaurant on the Google Maps with 4.5 stars and decided to give it a try! We are glad that we did! We were seated quietly even without reservations on a Friday evening which was not an easy thing in London! Our drinks and food orders was quickly taken and we go with couple dishes that our waitress recommended. Everything we ordered was on our table within a reasonable time! And they were all very delicious! We emptied all dishes! We need to come back again when we can!

The waitress, the bread and the tiramisu are the highlight. The cute and original environment. The rest is not good… - the manager spent the evening filming the waiters in Italian, never smiling at the customers - The spaghetti with lobster... it didn't have any lobster... there was the carcass of half a lobster, but empty, in fact the fork and shell breaker to clean it aren't even provided (see photo) - The tagliolini alla frogfisher…. They were cooked (a part was cooked all together, which also happens at home but inedible... reported to the waiter... it fell on deaf ears) and they were also very spicy - The bread was taken away halfway through the dinner... only strong point - Cleaning of the tables done... on the chairs The bill... you see Ah, the rosé wine is also good Sin!

Non bene … - la manager ha passato la serata a riprendere i camerieri in italiano, non ha mai sorriso ai clienti - gli spaghetti all’astice … non avevano l’astice …..c’era la carcassa di mezzo astice ma vuota…. Infatti non era neanche prevista la forchettina e il rompiguscio per pulirle (vedi foto) - i tagliolini alla rana pescatrice… non erano cotti ( una parte si è cotta tutta unita, cosa che capita anche a casa, ma immangiabile: l’ho segnalato al cameriere … caduta nel vuoto) ed erano molto piccanti - il pane è stato portato via a metà della cena …. Unico punto forte - pulizia dei tavoli fatta … sulle sedie Il conto … vedete voi.., Ah buono anche il vino rosè Peccato!

We had the lobster spaghetti and the spaghetti vongole- both were delicious, however unfortunately they were let down by the grit in the clams and the bits of shell in the lobster that had been added to the sauce. I would’ve loved to have given it 5 stars because the sauce really was delicious.

We loved our experience, these people know how to run great restaurants. Service is excellent and understated. Food is delicious, we had grilled scallops with lemon and rocket , mussels and marinated tuna & swordfish for starters. All pasta mains were great two. 2 Bottles of wine, bill was 390 for 4 people.

An excellent restaurant with quality food and a reasonable price in London. But I would like to note that the quality of service has deteriorated sharply in recent years. The waiting time for food is very long, visitors sit at the table with uncleaned plates, often waiters forget about the ordered dishes and drinks🤷‍♀️

Had a great time here. My boyfriend is Italian and he really loved the food. The seafood is very fresh and everything is very delicately done. The staff were kind enough to even help put a candle in the dessert for his birthday which I'd just left in the booking reservation notes.

Just had dinner at Olivomare, really excellent! Excellent service.

I have been coming to this restaurant since 2007. It is definitely one of the best Sicilian/Italian places in town for authentic food. Our dinner last night was a delightful experience, thanks to the amazing pasta Alla bottarga (a must-try for newcomers). I hold this place in high regard and continue to give it five stars. However, I am compelled to mention that the service could be improved, and the food taste could be more consistent, reminiscent of the years 2007-2012. I am looking forward to visiting this lovely place again and again and highly recommend it to people looking for great Sicilian food and experience.

Delicious original dishes, high quality ingredients combined with great execution and presentation by professional and friendly staff made this a memorable experience.

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of visiting Olivomare, a restaurant that was established in 2007 by Mr. Mauro Sanna. Upon entering the restaurant, my initial impression of the staff was not very impressive. They seemed inattentive and lacked the level of professionalism one would expect. To start, they served us bread and olives without providing a small plate. It may seem like a minor detail, but it is these small touches that contribute to the overall dining experience. Additionally, when the waiter asked if I wanted water, they brought the water bottle already opened. In my opinion, the water bottle should have been opened in front of me, rather than behind the bar. These small lapses in service etiquette were disappointing. However, once I mentioned that I was a food critic, the attitude of the staff changed dramatically. It is a shame that they only provided exceptional service after being aware of my profession. This indicates that they have the capability to provide excellent service, but it should be consistent for all customers, regardless of their occupation. Moving on to the highlight of the evening, the food at Olivemare was truly outstanding. To test the skills of an Italian cuisine chef, I ordered the spaghetti pomodoro, and it was perfectly prepared. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the tomato sauce was flavorful and well-balanced. This dish alone showcased the talent of the chef and their ability to execute a classic Italian dish flawlessly. In addition to the spaghetti pomodoro, we also ordered other starters that were equally delicious. The flavors were vibrant, and the presentation was visually appealing. For my main course, I opted for the spaghetti with crab, and it did not disappoint. The combination of the delicate crab meat with the pasta created a harmonious blend of flavors. To complement the meal, I enjoyed a glass of white wine that paired perfectly with the dishes. In summary, the food at Olivemare is truly fantastic. The chef's skill and attention to detail are evident in every dish. However, the service falls short and is in need of improvement. The staff's lack of attentiveness and inconsistency in their level of service detracted from the overall dining experience. The starters were ok, but the pasta was nasty. Poorly decorated. Don’t recommend.

I am extremely satisfied with the service provided by Letizia, Andrea and another very kind waiter (whose name I unfortunately do not know). Their kindness and professionalism made the experience even more enjoyable. The dishes served were simply delicious, confirming the high quality of the restaurant's cuisine. I would suggest offering a take-away option for leftover of moscardini sauce because that sauce was sensational. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for an unforgettable experience!

Really good food and service especially the sebadas. Knocked a star off as the mains were served on cold plates. We really enjoyed it and will go back.

The food was average at best and the pasta was sub standard. Starters were good but the mains were really underwhelming, one of the worst quality to price ratio in London. Service was rude and kept counting the minutes left to our dinner. Highly NOT recommend

Finally after over 30 years I've found an authentic Italian restaurant in London, excellent good quality food, not cheap, but you'll be eating top quality fish, served by friendly, competent staff in a clean and classy environment. I would give them 10 stars if I could!!!! If I had to be picky I would suggest more light. But everything else is perfect. Well done.

Questo ristorante di pesce inspirato alla cucina Sarda si trova non lontano da Victoria Station, in una tranquilla via secondaria. L’ambiente è piccolo, con tavoli vicini, ideale per coppie o piccoli gruppi. Il menù è interessante, tutto rigorosamente a tema marino con varietà di pasta fatta in casa e secondi. Il livello dei piatti è medio alto, sicuramente uno dei posti migliori in cui ho mangiato cucina italiana. Tutti i primi sembravano ottimi, i tortellini erano molto buoni e scenografici. Ho amato anche la “sebada”, tipico dolce sardo a base di formaggio. I vini hanno pressi alti ma un bicchiere di vino della casa è abbordabile.

The best place in the city for Spaghetti Bottarga, and let me tell you, there’s nowhere else quite like it. We tried. The way they prepare this dish is simply unparalleled; the flavors are so rich and authentic that it's like a culinary masterpiece on a plate. Also they have a terrace, where you can escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The atmosphere there is so peaceful; it's quiet and sunny, making it the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely meal. Sitting there, savoring every bite of that delicious Spaghetti Bottarga, I always feel like I was in my own little paradise. Also next to the restaurant is a small Italian shop with a lot of delicatessen ( you can take away some ready to eat food, or Italian groceries: if you reading this in December, and looking for a good Panetone this is the place)

This is an honest review and I am not hard to please! Food: far too salty and pasta was undercooked; overall the food was nasty. Service: TERRIBLE! I would not have gone to the effort of writing a review based on the food alone being poor. A particular lady working there was especially horrible; she overcharged us, did not apologise despite being wrong and instead was very demeaning. We left feeling deeply disrespected by her behaviour and attitude towards us. We came as a family to celebrate a 50th birthday and the evening was ruined by the service at Olivomare… so a big no thank you from us all!

Amazing Italian seafood restaurant. The inside is quite noisy so a table outside with heat lamps on are perfect. The ingredients are super fresh and simple cooking brings out the fresh ingredients. Octopus salad and cured tuna carpaccio were really good as were the crab meat pasta and octopus pasta. Lovely neighbourhood restaurant.

This is some of the best pasta I have ever eaten and I spend at least two weeks in various cities in Italy every year. One of my favourite things to eat is spaghetti with sea urchin so I came across Olivomare when I did a search for restaurants in London that serve this dish. When we looked at the menu, I was tempted by the pasta with clams and bottarga so decided to order both. So glad that I did. The clams and roe were a revelation. I have been dreaming about it all week! Service and wine also excellent. My husband had the risotto and grilled fish which he also gave two thumbs up!

High praises! They were kind enough to seat us, although we were 30 minutes late and the kitchen was closing. Even so, the service was perfect, fast and attentive, and the food absolutely delicious. Fresh seafood and a lovely desert. This restaurant is a precious little gem in Victoria.

Food is lovely although it is quite expensive and service is usually slow. Be careful of their deceptive commercial practices, they dare to charge an unadvised service charge on takeaways !

Very well serviced. Food was really good, needless to say the wine. From time to time they have special seafood like sea urchins or razor clams, you won't want to miss it. All are very high quality. Of course don't miss their pasta, they're simple yet so tantalizing. Now they have some summer desserts, I've tried a few, all very nice.

My wife and I had the Monkfish and the Sea Bass paired with Gavi di Gavi white wine. Our meals were excellent. The staff was welcoming and professional. The vibe is upbeat and chic.

Recommendation from a friend. Arrived early, staff welcomed us in,took our coats and granted a table switch when I asked. The ambience is just stunning, nothing over the top,perfectly lit,the right amount of patrons,everyone was perfectly spaced. Food was scrumptious,was our first time having Sardinian Cuisine, tantalizing on the taste buds. Staff were always around and making sure that you were ok or if you needed anything.speed of service was perfect.never felt rushed at all. Thanks again and looking forward to our next visit.

This visit left us a little disappointed. The food was very good apart from the octopus starter,it wasn't as tender as expected.The service was painfully slow. We sat at 12:45 and waited and waited and waited for our starters to arrive.The quality of the ingredients was excellent and ,when the food arrived,it was very well presented. I asked if the main could be delivered a little faster, please, but again, we waited and waited. Tagliolini all'astice were tasty but arrived cold at the table,terrible pity. The fish soup was very tasty and the grilled fish was also deliciuos.We left at 3:15, which is definitely not we had planned for the day .No explanation was offered about the delay, and no action was taken to apologise for the waiting. Enjoyed the food, but a real off-putting experience,sorry to say.

The best hand made pasta I had in London

Amazing restaurant! We will definitely be coming back! The atmosphere is lovely, service is top notch and the food is delicious. All the waiters were really friendly and happy to chat or explain something if needed. We had seafood carpaccio, pasta with clams and bottarga and prawn risotto - everything was quite tasty. There was a good selection of Italian wines and there were several ones that had 0.5l bottles.

Exceptional place from staff to food. Everything so tasty and, as Sardinian my self, nice to find the Sebadas as dessert. Special mention to the lady manager, top notch professional and impeccable customer service. Very nice dinner.

Great service super nice decor. 100% recommend the spaghetti all’astice (lobster pasta) I have been a few times and have yet to find better pasta than that anywhere. The tiramisu is also one to go for always. A very enjoyable experience
