The Exmouth Arms in Islington

Very expensive. Great location for people watching. £40 for a New Zealand sauvignon blanc! £18 for 2 chicken skewers, tzaiki , miniature Greek salad, and over dried flat bread! Meal for 2 same main, 1 side of fries, bottle of wine, pint of orange and lemonade, £81, including service charge! Staff were friendly, toilets clean. Will not return, far too expensive for our taste and tiny portion.

Can get busy at weekday nights, sometimes finding a seat can be difficult. Good option for the area.

Alarm went off at 3am. In the pub from 3.30, no heating, coffee possible but night guard waiter not sociable at all. Fortunately there is music

Really enjoyed my visit to The Exmouth Arms! The staff were super nice and friendly, which made the whole vibe really welcoming. Tried the halloumi fries, it was absolutely delicious. Definitely recommend! Only downside was that the music was a bit too loud, so it was hard to have a proper conversation at times. Other than that, it was a great spot, and I’ll definitely be going back. Oh, and for anyone deciding between pubs in the area, this place is way better than the Clerkenwell Tavern down the street.

Any pub that’s staff come out and squidgey the wet tables after it rains for punters to immediately sit down and avoid a damp botty deserves 5-stars. Take notes publicans, take notes.

Pros: Tasty food and nice staff. Potatoes, carrots and Yorkshire were brilliant. Cons: Quite loud. Small portion of protein. Belly pork fat was not crispy. Parsnips were hard/undercooked. Asked for extra gravy and it didn’t arrive until the end of our meal.

Noisy old pub with good Guinness

Went to the downstairs section of the pub, got some drinks and food. A large TV was directly above us and an hour later a large group booking arrived and went to a table nearby. About 20mins later they started playing a video game on the TV directly above us. So essentially 15 people suddenly surrounded us, putting drinks on our table. It was so awkward and frankly quite rude. I was stunned the staff allowed this and really spoiled our night. Will not go back!

Not to sure about this place £9 for table service,We both had the beef which considering Smithfield Meat Market is literally a stones throw away the beef wasn't great,Also on the wine menu a bottle of Pinot Noir was £24 we got charged £34 which is a bit steep, no problem with the staff very friendly but not to sure of the standard of the Roast Dinner I've noticed that the owner replies to good reviews but not to bad ones!!

Holy shit, the food has gone so downhill. I have never been given so much dill per mm on a portion fries. The poor chef was overwhelmed by 10 menu option's. Get some extra staff in.

A nice pub for a drink but avoid for roasts - it's a gamble whether your meat of choice will be massively over or undercooked. A guarantee is that the vegetables are overcooked. Overall pretty disappointing.

Dropped in here with friends whilst on vacation in London on Saturday night. A lively pub, busy with people. We stayed for several drinks, local craft beers, IPA's available with bottles of more well known brands available too. Downstairs and upstairs, toilets located in basement level, be careful going down the stairs, bit tight and small. Overall a good spot to have a few drinks.

Authentic english Pub Reservation Worked fine. Ordering Food was at the beginning Little bit challenging. But After Talks to the staff everything worked fine. Good Food and good Drinks

Essential staging post as you await your train's departure from Euston. Excellent selection of cask & keg beers. Usually room to get your laptop out and catch up on a bit of admin using the free wi-fi.

Unassuming history in a London town local boozer. This large, corner bar is an original locals bar for a hard working, busy market street in Clerkenwell. A visit here is an exploration into new parts of London, unfamiliar after 20+ years of residency. It's on Exmouth Market in a broad stance of vintage green tiled, beautiful signage over pedestrian corner bar London street drinking with large square windows topped in colourful harlequin glazing. A compact, square central bar opens up more space for drinking at tables with studded bench seating around an original fireplace & industrial features. Excellent red brick basement, clean & vintage featured washrooms with great tunes & amenities. The bar stock is thoughtful & plentiful. Vintage chandeliers complement modern touches in a clean, well cared for pub with understated, down to earth character & purpose. A local pub in a local area well worth a visit.

Great food, beer and service. I liked that both meals were not greasy and it was a bit different than the classic Burger and Fish and Chips 😊

We dropped in for a drink hearing the loud music from the neighborhoods. The atmosphere is electric evening onwards. Gives you a proper British pub feel. Located right at the crossroad across Exmouth Market. Seemed to be quite old but couldn't find out how old. We had a large glass of beer at 6.8 pounds and some great roasted peanuts for 3 pounds along with a good crispy chicken with Korean sauce at 9 pounds. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The staff were nice.

A nice variety of pub lunches were served by very helpful staff to our group of 16. The staff were great and eager to please.

This pub is very nice for drinks, classic atmosphere and can't go wrong with a cold beer. Did not enjoy the food - lunchtime sandwiches are super small portions with exceptionally low quality ingredients. The halloumi ciabatta used a small piece of hyperprocessed bread, iceberg lettuce, and the tiniest slices of halloumi with readymade spicy mayo. Unpleasant at best - just go to Pret and come here for a beer after.

Specifically asked for a cheese smash burger with onions and pickles and instead got a dry, cheeseless, flavourless, overcooked non-smash burger with one sliver of onion that was ridiculously overpriced. No toppings but raw onion despite asking and paying for toppings.

Great experience for my first time in a dormitory. Staff were super friendly and helpful, will definitely use for future trips to London

We booked the function room for a 30th birthday party, and couldn’t recommend it more. The venue looked great with a nice atmosphere and excellent outdoor area. The food was lovely and came quickly. All the guests were very happy. The best thing was how laid back and friendly all the staff were, it made everything completely stress-free. Special shout out to Linda, the bartender assigned to the function room, she was fab!

I recently hosted a birthday party here and had a fantastic experience. Booking and arranging the private room was a breeze, with a great choice of food and drinks. Best of all, we had Euan as our bartender all night long, and he was brilliant. I'd give 6 stars for service if I could.

My friend and I split a chicken burger and a smash burger! There was a promotion on for the smash burger so it was 11 pounds and was super tasty! The pub was quiet but in the nighttime has a great atmosphere 🤟🏻

We had a wonderful night in the cocktail room on Saturday celebrating a birthday. AJ our bar man did a fantastic job and on a very warm evening we were grateful for the aircon. The food was good and plentiful and as the room has its own well-stocked bar all we had to do was sit back and enjoy. Thank you!

I booked a table for drinks on their website but the bartenders couldn't find it. We were left with no alternative table and no apologies, it was a bit disappointing.

Have been trying out Sunday roast around our area and decided to try the Exmouth arms had a Nice Roast dinner, Had plenty of Chicken & Veg shame about some of the vegetables, perhaps replacing one with cauliflower cheese would be nice and a twist to other pub roast dinners, wasn’t really any taste to the Red cabbage or swede but the rest made up for it cabbage , carrots & plenty of Roasties the Yorkshire pud was huge as well , partner had the Vegetarian wellington option which was nice as well but shame about the gravy being poured over the wellington making the pastry soggy, but just have to ask for a jug of gravy on the side instead next time . Very good service and friendly and attentive staff and the pub itself was pleasant and had a good vibrant atmosphere. The menu was quite varied for a Sunday so plenty of choice if you didn’t want the Roast dinner option. And a very good reasonable price as well compared to most pubs who served smaller portions. A good variety of Beers, Wines and soft drinks All in all a very nice time had and will definitely be returning.

As per, it had great atmosphere, brilliant service and friendly staff. Can’t wait to return to my favourite pub in the summer for the outdoor seats :P

Lovely pub for after work drinks. Serves good quality pub food for a reasonable price as well. Great selection of craft beers on tap and the staff are always polity and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Had the roast. Yorkshire was inedible and completely crunchy, they had no take out boxes for any leftovers either. Rest of the plate was good however so was pretty disappointed. Will probably head back again sometime and give it another go.

Had a bad experience with some of the patrons. The bar staff (man in cap particularly) could not have handled it better and the security man was equally amazing! As a woman, it’s so important to feel safe in London and the staff at this venue could not have made me feel more listened to and my safety more prioritised. Thank you so much exmouth arms!!

A proper locals pub with a very original feel to it, appeals to me completely, awesome decorations, solid prices, good service and a well spaced floor prevents you constantly bumping into someone else, only reason for 4 stars was the quality of the Camden Pale which came out flat twice. Very excited to return for the smash burgers so may give 5 in the future :)

was just in the pub, trying to decide between pizza Pilgrims and a Sunday dinner decided to eat at the Exmouth and now wish I had had pizza. I ordered the pork belly it’s arrived really small portion potatoes, black on the bottom the cabbage was soggy and overcooked and the pork was not pork belly. It was a pork shoulder rolled which was very fatty. No meat on it tough as old boots Really disappointed as this used to be a great pub. I mentioned to the lovely bar girl and she said she would tell her manager, but nobody came out to say sorry or anything. Wish I had had the pizza!!!!!
