The best restaurants in Melbourne South Derbyshire East Midlands

Had a lovely lunch we both ordered scampi and chips very large portion lovely crispy coating on scampi chips cooked to perfection came with a nice little salad. Very pleasant staff. All priced very reasonably will certainly go again .

Fresh and well cooked food with diffent menu choices than typically seen. Perhaps a little oilly would be only thing to mention.

A fantastic little place, so cosy, beautiful decor. The staff were so friendly. I tried to order the pancakes, they said 'I'm afraid they're on the breakfast menu, that stops at 1200', when I asked could they please be done for me, they were, no problem. REALLY appreciated it. Well done & thank you.

Ordered food Saturday evening, 2 pizzas, one fries and, as described, full portion of Veggie Samosas @ £14, given half portion was £7, there was 4 of us, assumed full portion of Samosas would be plenty for us. To our amazement, (more gobsmacked) when the food arrived, there was 2, yes 2! veggie Samosas. We challenged the waitress, who said no one was available to speak with, there’s clearly a problem with the pricing structure. Other people appear to be complaining about the same issue.

Five of us went for a family birthday meal. Have been before and had a good meal. On this occasion, very disappointed. We were given the menus and made our choices and a second server came and took our order. However, were then told that the Pheasant and Venison were not available, so two alternatives were ordered, one being the Hake. However, fish and chips was brought instead. It was offered to be swapped but that would have meant waiting for their meal while everyone else ate theirs. So a double whammy, not only the first choice not available but the wrong substitute brought. When I came to pay and was asked how everything was, I explained the disappointment of the unavailability of the Pheasant and Venison and the wrong meal being brought. At that point I was told that the Pheasant was available and the server had made a mistake. How frustrating. They then consulted the manager and removed the charge for the fish and chips as a gesture. Overall not the best birthday meal.

Great live music atmosphere, really enjoyed it. Busy at the time, Friday before Xmas. A good stop on a pub crawl in Melbourne.

Ordered for 8 people and it was ready in only 25 minutes! One of the best chineses I've had and easy to get to from Donington Circuit

Great food, good value. Also a working microbrewery right inside the bar area.

Top quality takeaway meal. Price was good and amount was very good.

Nice traditional pub with a warm welcome and a great pint of Bass. They had a good selection of board games to play as well.

I went for a business end of the year venue and all was perfectly organised. The place is also very well maintained and clean. The music was also nice and with good quality.

Always the best. Not sure about the shop name anymore as it seems someone has messed around but the address is right.

After being advised that if we arrived at the tea rooms on Saturday morning before 11.30am ( we arrived at 11.00 am) we would accommodated for lunch, We found that all the tables had been booked for afternoon tea and were unavailable to us. We had travelled a distance and were very dissapointed with the attitude of the staff. No apologies were given and no one seemed interested. We were advised by others outside of the tea rooms to visit Meaks on the main street.

Really great food. Wonderful service. Great little place! It really is lovely for families, as it’s open early and also great as a couple.

Chips were ok, as was the curry sauce and mushy peas. The fish was another story! Greasy, the fish was mushy and grey. I would be ashamed to serve that! The worse fish we have ever had.
