The best restaurants in North Hertfordshire East of England

Ordered a takeaway last night, was told it would be 40 mins approx. A hour and a half later it turned up. The whole meal was warm. Mint sauce and chutney had no flavour. Popadoms smashed to pieces! " this is the first and last time I will use paprika! Ruined mine and my wife's saturday evening! Id give it 0 star if I could. AVOID

Food is good. Freshly made, good ingredients. Service is hit and miss, sometimes you have the happy waiting staff who would get 5 stars and then then you get the grumpy ones or the ones who seem a little arrogant. Atmosphere is always loud, the sound of the other diners seem to travel a lot. Some people prefer the noise but I wouldn't go here if you want a quiet meal.

Revisited this pub after a few years away. England football match on and mostly empty, albeit Tuesday night. Used to be a much buzzier pub in the week, though can't fully judge on one night. Also, no longer does food. It has a pool table. All in all, lacked a bit of atmosphere for a match night. Guinness is okay and prices reasonable. Has tables outside.

Just been here for fish and chips… was a 18 min drive and £14 odd for the food. Waste of time, money and diesel. Fish is cheap and tasteless and the chips are dry and bland. Will not be returning

Nowhere as good as previous visits. I have always been impressed previously but today was poor. Gammon was overcooked & burnt in places which meant it was incredibly dry, not all of it but enough to render a quarter of it inedible. What was really disappointing, however, was the complete lack of reaction to the feedback, I wasn't expecting money off, i expected to be treated with a bit more care and respect & why ask how things were with the meal, if you don't appear to be interested in hearing it. For balance, my colleagues enjoyed their meals, but this is my review.

Xmas party! Food was absolutely delicious! 5 0f us came for a meal I had prawn cocktail, xmas dinner and cheesecake well worth £27 large portions of tasty food, Quick service and polite waiter, Recommend.

An exceptional meal every time. Great portion sizes, so authentic and the staff are just brilliant. The best massamaan curry ever also. One of the best places to eat in hitchin hands down.

It used to be THE spot in Hitchin to grab some tacos and margaritas. Now it has a takeaway only feel with some techy kiosks. And we can't seem to find the tacos anymore... Whilst there, another couple came in, saw there was no tacos and left, so not sure if going this way was a wise financial decision either? Used to be the favourite restaurant in Hitchin, now to mourn for the loss. Hopefully it will return one day to its glory, and I can update this back to 5 stars.
