The best restaurants in Chalkwell Southend-on-Sea East of England

Lovely pub, friendly atmosphere, pub food but done well. Service excellent.

Super service only beaten by their chips, OMG they are so good. Wife is a vegetarian and had their Halloumi Skewers again super nice, if you haven't been here like myself all I can say is best I've had in a long time.

Portion size poor for the price. I'd expect a proper French stick baguette, not one of those skinny part baked ones like you'd get from Greggs

To let board in window. Appears to be closed. Nothing on website to indicate that they are closed. Another group had booked a table but found door locked. Had some fantastic meals there and would love to eat there again, but the to let board in the window gives the impression that it's closed. Really hope they are just moving to new premises. 3 star review as made a special trip but found it closed.

Took a friend there, and we enjoyed pounded yam and egusi soup, with some dangerous assorted meat jostling for space! If you eat heavy, don't be shy to tell the wonderful lady!

🥰What an amazing dish we had yesterday. You need to give 48hrs notice but delicious leg of lamb in authentic spices was fantastic, it also came with flavoursome spiced roast potatoes, garlic mushrooms, vegetable curry, rice, nan bread, Chana masala, lamb mince, & salad plenty for 4 people! 👍🏻

A bit of a crazy place with lots of live music and entertainment, the landlady works hard to serve the customers

Went for the first time the other day. Food was ok, not the best Indian I’ve ever had but not the worst. Probably wouldn’t rush back, not because anything was terrible but more just that there are better places out there.

Food was full of oil and made me feel sick all night. Today it came out the other end. I have been a regular but lately this place has gone down hill and I certainly won’t go back. Very disappointed
