The best restaurants in Tendring East of England

We booked this for our team Xmas party and the staff at Regency Cottage delivered! Gave a set budget that I had and they kept me informed throughout the night as to how that was looking and called time when we hit it, helpful for me. The food and service was excellent, could taste the fresh flavours and work that has gone into these dishes, we all had a great time and certainly out themselves on the map with my team, I would expect we would use them again for similar events. Thankyou and well done.

Best Kebab Meat in town. Order is always correct. And any cold drinks are always bagged separately. Delivery and collection would highly recommend. A*

I’m gonna give this a 5 outta 5 I recently starting using the Beijing Chinese after my local Chinese restaurant started becoming shit You can’t fault this one The food is amazing And the staff are polite Would recommend it’s now and probably has always been the best in town

As usual, amazing takeaway food that is brilliant for their generous portions and prices. I have used Tandoori Nights for years and have NEVER had a bad meal from them.

Could not recommend this place enough! Called up and explained my allergy and they made all the food to cater around my allergy! The staff were amazing, delivery was quick and food was delicious! Our new place to go!

Kebab cold, chip tasted as they where nade hours previous. Will not be using again. Shame, had enjoyed previously.

I have had breakfast twice here. Prices are modest and food was reasonably good. The first time i waited too long for my order to be cooked. They seemed to be cooking 1 at a time! 2nd timr was quick. Od come here again for breakfast but there is a nicer place aboout 400 meters back from the beach...

Food was very 🔥 meaning perfect temperature cooked through, the staff very warm welcoming and while I was waiting the staff spoke to me nicely and had nice chit chat while I was waiting dor my order. Best in harwich town I say and food is freshly prepared I mean pictures says it all for you that reading. Never met a takeaway shop that does it there traditional way! I can't wait to go back

There were three of us who enjoyed a fabulous Sunday roast dinner. The food was delicious and the service was friendly and cheerful. We'll definitely be coming again. Lovely atmosphere.

Sadly we had the skate and it tasted so bad it could not be eaten. I asked the waiter to check and he said the kitchen said it came in fresh that day and was fine. The smell was so bad. No refund offered. I have never had skate before so did not know if that was the terrible taste and smell. Having looked it up it seems this strong amonia smell is ftom fresh fish but to get rid of this taste and smell it should be left for 24 hrs and soaked in milk etc. put me off for life and put me off returning. It was really pungent in taste and smell. A shame as I have been there quite a few times It cost a fair bit for something we only had a couple of mouthfuls. Sorry but we should of been offered a refund on this one meal. The other meals were fine. The owner will need to look at honest reviews and up his game with the chef and when a customer complains and just wants honesty, or he will risk losing his business.

5 of us returned to this once lovely Greek restaurant that’s meant to serve ‘delicious Greek food’…well what a disaster! Ordered starters (vine leaves, prawns and mushrooms) very disappointing and not much going on! Then ordered lamb kleftico…nothing like menu states…slow cooked lamb with lots of spices, well what we actually got was a dried up, over cooked lamb shank with no flavour on a bed of vegetables and nothing but a typical Sunday carvery roast potato!! We then asked the waitress for some gravy or some sort of sauce to at least liven it up…we was then served some gravy that was nothing but a tasteless gravy from a packet! Very very disappointing to say the least as we have been here before and was served a completely different meal to what we have had in the past which was to be fair a really lovely meal. When we informed the waitress who again was completely apologetic she told us that they now have a different chef. We was offered an alternative but to be honest didn’t fancy taking the chance as my daughters Souvlaki/chicken was also very dried out! Well I can tell you now the chef needs to be trained in Greek cuisine because the meal I had was nothing like what you’d expect from a Greek restaurant and was returned and not paid for, we was offered a free drink and some dips/pitta bread to compensate for the disastrous meals we were served. We left £170 lighter and still hungry….We will most definitely NOT be returning nor recommending this restaurant! #management sort it out!!

I wonder sometimes about the review question writers. This is just a takeaway so atmosphere is hard to generate and equally hard to rate. What I can say is the staff are all friendly but very busy. The phones are buzzing all the time but the staff never make me feel overlooked. When I drop in to order the food is ready in a quick time and piping hot. My son who has lived in London for years always wants food from here because he says it is as good or better than most in regional London, and much cheaper. All in all I won't be trying anywhere else in Clacton.

Love the food, especially the burgers and chicken. Value for money.
