The best restaurants in Kensington and Chelsea London

Travelling through the UK. Been to a few overpriced establishments. Not with the Greene King chain though. Be it the tucked away Old Starre Inn in York or the Goat Tavern in London overlooking Hyde Park, a warm, welcoming and budget friendly experience awaits you. We'll be back for more!!

Decent English pub, atmosphere is ok, service is a bit hit or miss. Someone kept leaving the door open in 0 degC weather. Also the fish and chips was not great. Very oily and mushy...the natural peas were fine. Don't spend extra for bread and butter! It's literally white loaf bread slices with some butter....

Wonderfull place with amazing food all the dishes were exceptional The staff were more than friendly and always treated us with a smile :)

Excellent experience, always ask if the dish is spicy because here they take it for granted.

Mona Lisa is a relaxed and cozy spot, popular with locals and people working nearby who come to enjoy their breakfast during the morning hours. The professional and welcoming all-male team (perhaps Mona Lisa had the day off when I visited 😅) delivers the service you'd hope for. The menu offers a wide variety of breakfast options, including traditional English breakfast and some unique (to me) choices like a liver breakfast—which I tried for the first time and found surprisingly enjoyable. Most breakfast dishes are priced around £12.95. I also appreciated the quality of the food: real (not instant) coffee, good-quality bacon, liver, and Heinz sauces all made the experience even better. I’ll definitely return if I’m in the area again!

Had a fun time drinking rum. Staff were super friendly and happy. Accommodated all our needs! Would recommend for rum drinkers. Can be an expensive trip!!

Love this gorgeous restaurant, visit from time to time. On Tuesday evening, 27th of April 2021 we went into the restaurant to see if they could accommodate us with a table (two ladies). I asked the 1st person after we entered through the door, a gent named Onur, said he has no bookings available and we should have known better to book before hand. which is fair enough, though his tone and words were not very pleasant. Regardless we mentioned that we are local and really hoping to get a table for an hour or so. He said we could come back at 7:30 which was the time then, I can understand if they were rushed off their feet and too busy to deal with walk ins. I feel that some one more welcoming and friendly should be at the door always. We then went into the small garden and took a look around, empty tables at the back and asked the waitress, a young lady with blonde hair tied up. He then interrupted us and got annoyed about the fact that we asked if we could sit at any one of those tables for a quick dinner and turned really rude. He said " come one, why are you going around and asking every one" and " I already said no, we cannot accommodate you, please" and pointed to the door. We are really upset to have been spoken to in such way and are extremely embarrassed as we were inside the premises when he pointed us the door to leave. Both Londoners and never experienced such rude manners specially in an established area and business such as Brinkleys. We live locally and looked presentable and dressed for dinner, feel we did not receive any respect or courtesy. What could have been a very polite encounter and concluded by let me see when we next have a table available turned into us being rudely spoken to and pointed to the door. Manners and peoples skills were lacking which is shocking. We hoped to receive an apology here at least but we never did.

This was a walk-in / no reservation evening meal out and they were so kind to provide us a table on what is typically a busy Saturday evening. The menu is well thought out, the food was very well prepared, staff had just the right amount of attentiveness but we were made to feel so welcome that we enjoyed every minute. One of the most pleasant evenings out we have had in London and although not cheap, worth every penny. Thanks guys!

Our group of 18 hungry walkers arrived at lunchtime and received a warm welcome from all the staff. We had not booked but tables and chairs were quickly rearranged and everyone was seated. Hot drinks and food appeared without delay and the combination of great service and good food could not have been better. Thank you Cafe Nouvelle for accommodating such a large group.

We were bought an afternoon tea voucher for Christmas. Sandwiches were a lovely selection, fresh and tasty. Cakes were beautiful. The scones were really really good. Beautiful clotted cream and the earl grey tea was lovely. Service was great and the room decorated beautifully. The only complaint was that it wasn’t quite warm enough in the room. I wouldn’t pay £55 a head for this champagne afternoon tea as I’ve had lovely ones at half the price but we really enjoyed receiving it as a gift. Nice experience for us.
