The best restaurants in Northumberland North East

If I could give this cafe 0 stars I would, the food was at best bad, I have never had such an aweful meal chips that seemed like thay had been cooked at least a day before then refried chicken strips that were actually chicken nuggets that seemed as if marinaded in grease , a tasteless burger and overly greasy haggis, when I complained we were still charged full price even though it was mostly inedible, sadly we went by previous reviews when making a choice to eat there.

We had a meal there last night, set menu for two. Good choice of starters and main courses, including a drink. Choose from korma all the way through to vindaloo, so something for everyone. Full menu of other dishes was available. Service was friendly, food was hot, well presented and good size portions. Will go back if I’m ever in town again.

Very popular cafe. Great prices and tasty food

Special treat to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Beautiful castle, attentive staff, food was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit. Only downside is its very expensive.

We always try to support local independent businesses and Micahs is definitely worth supporting. Great food and great service is always on offer and the bonus there is always great welcome for our dog Orla.

Went with my son on his recommendation for a light lunch and a coffee. Very good coffee and excellent quality of food. Good portions and prices are reasonable for the quality. Small bistro with not many seats but good ambiance. Waiter was friendly, helpful and efficient. Will return soon.

Nice atmosphere on a morning with fantastic, fresh, flavourful bacon in a crunchy roll. Coffee is also great and service is quick and staff are friendly.

Visited with family (11 of us). Fabulous service and amazing food. Pre-order was needed as there were so many of us and it worked really well. Friendly staff, very welcoming and made a fuss of the kids which added an extra touch (and the ice cream went down very well!). Will be back!

The hotel is clean and recently renovated. It’s a 19-minute walk to the town center, and the breakfast is lovely. We’ll definitely return next time

We visited this pub around 4 years ago on a stay in Alnwick, now we were returning I knew I wanted to go back here! The food is proper home cooked pub food, the steak pie is not to be missed. The service was so friendly, they were so good with our little boy who enjoyed his sausage & potatoes from the children’s menu! Can’t wait to come back

Simply put this is one of the best places for quality Italian/Sardinian food I’ve been to outside of Italy itself and I’ve been to a few in this country. The food is exemplary and at the price point it’s great value. If you are in Hexham then don’t be put off by its cafe tag or lack of expensive decor. Sit down start with the bruschetta and work down through the main to the dessert and a coffee. You will not be disappointed. We are only in Hexham for a few days and we’ve been twice

Fantastic cooked breakfast, friendly welcoming staff, wished I had kept space for one of their delicious looking cakes. A must visit on your list.

We visited on Sunday evening for my Grandmas birthday. The service was brilliant and the food was delicious. Thank you for a great evening It was our first visit but defiantly wont be our last
